CHAPTER 43

A/N: Pardon my time jumps

A year later

I can't wait to get back home. I've been at the office all day, my energy is drained and I'm craving fish and chips.

I work for Aaron, yes I'm working for him. I'm the manager of one of the branches of his companies. He runs a house flipping business and the profits are skyrocketing at the moment.

"Mrs Adenuga"

A smile comes to my face at the mention of that name.

I look up from laptop to see my secretary standing at the door. I roll my eyes inwardly, what does this he want again.

"Yes, come in Ethan" I say.

He walks in briskly and sits on the chair opposite me.

"What's the matter now?" I ask in a bored tone.

He looks at me nervously he probably knows that I'm not in the mood for all of this right now.

"You have a meeting tomorrow by ten am with AlnoFurniture" he says.

"Didn't I instruct you to postpone all meeting for this week to the upper week?" I ask with a pointed smile.

"Yes you did but I feel this meeting is very imp......"

"If that is the case, Inform Mr Jude that the meeting will hold and he will represent me" I say cutting him off.

He's about to says something but I speak up.

"Do the same for every other meeting that you feel is too important to postpone" I say.

"I don't mean to come off as rude but I don't feel Mr Jude can handle these meetings Mrs Adenuga" he says adjusting his glasses.

I let out a sigh and hold the bridge of my nose to calm myself down. Ethan is always so persistent about everything and is always coming to give me personal thoughts on every member of the staff. He's so annoying.

"Well, I know that he is capable of handling the meetings. I don't want to hear another word from you, you may leave" I say.

He mutters some inaudible words as he leaves the office.

I go back to the movie I was watching before I was interrupted. I know, I meant to be working but I'm so tired.

I glance at my watch and it's already after two, I need to leave the office soon. I have a trip to pack for.

"Mrs Adenuga"

I know that voice, it's Mr Jude. This man is the best employee in this branch of the company, I can trust him with anything.

"Come in" I say with a smile.

"I'm not staying for too long, I just got the memo from Ethan" he says.

"Are you okay with it?" I ask in a concerned voice.

"Yes I am ma'am. I just wanted to thank you for entrusting such a huge task to me" he says.

"No problem at all" I say sincerely.

"Enjoy your trip ma'am" he says then he leaves.

"I can't come and kill myself, I'm going home. I'm tired"

I get up and pack my stuff, I grab my car keys and head out.

I half run and half walk to where I parked my car, as soon as I reach my car I get in and turn on the engine.
