It was the next day, and as usual in the mornings, I was by my locker, talking with Livie. I was sure to fill her in with my most recent events, and right though it all, she was supportive.

"I can't believe it! Chase actually kissed you. Yaass! I can't wait to see what that psychopath motherfucker has to say about that," Livie cheered, referring to Alice. But I frowned when I realized something.

I only got a peck on the cheek. Alice got a full blown lip-to-lip kiss.

Livie seemed to notice, and she hugged me. "Don't worry about Alice. As time passes, you're gonna leave her in the dust."

I gave her a small smile in appreciation of her motivational messages, but I still felt a little bit hollow.

The bell rang, signifying that classes are about to start.

I glanced at Livie, who blew me a kiss. "See you at lunch!"

I watched as she walked in the opposite direction, while I went ahead to Mr Taylor's class. I lined up outside the class, as usual, when I spotted True coming my way. I observed her clothing carefully. She had the same, huge afro, but instead of her usual hoodies and sneakers, she came up in a navy blue crop top, black jeans, and navy blue sandals. I gawk at her shiny, brown skin, and she flashed me a million dollar smile.

"Hi!" she greeted, and I smiled back at her. "Hey! I love the look you're pulling off today."

"Thanks, although it wasn't my intention. My mom forced me into 'dressing like a girly girl'...if that makes sense to you," she said.

I was about to respond, but then something glorious caught my eye. Or more likely, someone.

I leaned over to the side a bit to get a better view of Chase. He happened to look my direction, and awarded me his beautiful smile, which I returned, minus all that beauty.

"Looks like someone is really into Chase, huh?" I heard True chuckle, and I blushed when I realised I was caught. It's not like I can hide anything from her anyway. She sees right through my thoughts.

"I guess."

She gazed at him for a bit, before slightly raising her eyebrows in surprise. "I don't think that Alice girl kissed him," she said out of the blue.

Wait...

What?!

"Huh?" I was all I could ask. My head was doing something to my thoughts, and now I can't really think straight.

"No, it never happened. Looks like she lied to you about that," she turned to me.

"But why? Why would she do that?" I frowned.

"Maybe she was messing with your mind. You know, trying to make you jealous or something," True shrugged.

I thought about it, remembering our last encounter.

The spotlights are mine, you thot! And since you stole it from me so, so many times,...you will pay. After all, I think revenge is the best medicine, am I right?

All I know, that girl has issues.

Mr Taylor showed up, telling us to get into pairs for the class activity.

"How about we pair?" I suggested to True.

"Great," she smiled. I saw Chase looking at me, and he quickly looked away. Huh.

"He was gonna ask you to pair with him," True patted my shoulder when she realized what just happened.

"Really?"
