I walked behind Derek and Scott into the train car as Derek took a seat in front of us. After Scott woke up and we made sure he was okay. All three of us came to Derek's hideout.
"I'm just saying we need a new plan, because next time, one of us is gonna be too hurt to heal," Derek said as he glazed from my brother to me. When his eyes landed on me, they filled with concern.
"Don't look at me that why," I ordered him as I crossed my arms," I can protect myself,"
"Emery, you're a human you don't heal like we do," Derek stated firmly.
"His right, Em," Scott agreed with Derek.
"Okay, can we just talk about what we are going to do with our issue," I stated, trying to change the subjects that were on me, "Because clearly we can't save Jackson."
"We can't seem to kill him either," Derek said frustrated sitting back into the chair he was in, "I've seen a lot of things but I've never seen anything like this. Every new moon's just gonna make him stronger."
"But then how the hell do we stop him?" I said with a sigh rubbing my temples.
"I don't know. I don't even know if we can," Derek said rubbing his hand over his forehead.
"Maybe we should just let the Argents handle it," Scott suggested then he looked towards me, "Just the Argents not you Emery."
I rolled my eyes at him before speaking up, "I have been hunting for six years Scott, there is no way I'm staying out of this." Even though I knew that there was only little I could do in this situation I wasn't going to back down now. Human or not it was my job to protect people in danger.
"No, I'm the one who turned him. It's my fault," Derek told Scott softly.
I frowned at Derek and took a seat next to him, "Yeah, but you didn't turn him into this."
Scott nodded his head in agreement, "Emery's right. This has something to do with what happened in his past, right?"
"That's a legend in a book," Derek sighed, "It's not that simple."
"What do you mean?" Scott asked Derek. "What are you guys not telling me?"
"You guys?" I asked confused, "Why do you think I have something to do with this?"
"Because clearly there is something going on between the two of you that you don't want to tell me about," Scott shouted.
"Emery is not keeping anything from you and neither am I," Derek stated as he got up from his seat, "Why do you think I'm always keeping something from you?"
"Because you always are keeping something from me," Scott started loudly and frustrated.
"Well, maybe I do it to protect you," Derek said, running a hand through his hair as he spoke to Scott.
"Doesn't being part of your pack mean no more secrets?" Scott protested.
A sigh left Derek lips as he shook his head at my brother, "Go home, Scott. Sleep. Heal. Make sure your friends are safe." Derek ordered, "Because the full moon's coming. And with the way things are going, I've got a feeling it's gonna be a rough one."
After that he did as Derek told him to do and only left Derek and me in the train car. I stood up from the chair and slowly walked over to Derek before rapping my arms around his neck and looked into his eyes as I spoke up, "He's just trying to protect his friends."
"I know but maybe I'm trying to protect you," Derek said as he slowly lifted his hand and placed it on my cheek, caressing it.
"I can..." I started but he cut me off.
