Chapter 1 - Emmalin

I woke up with a big smile on my face. Today was my graduation and I couldn't wait to get it over with. I was sad because all my friends were going out of this town for their higher studies but we'd be in touch and I would meet them in 2 weeks at my wedding.

I was 22 and so was my fiancé and we were getting married so early but when he proposed to me after 6 years of our relationship all I could say was yes.

You know when you love someone and find the one for you then you couldn't wait to spend the rest of your life with him and my fiancé Kyle Johnson was my dream ever since I remember. He moved here in Michigan when he was 10 and since then I knew he's the one I knew it's childish but here we were today engaged and going to be married in 2 weeks. He loved me so much, he always made sure that I was happy and that made me the happiest person alive.

"Emma are you awake?" My Mom said knocking on my door.

"I am awake Mom, come in".

My Mom came and sat on my bed next to me. I knew she was overwhelmed right now because her baby girl was graduating today. When I looked at her, her eyes were watery.

"Oh Mom, don't cry I am graduating not going on a war" I said and she smiled with her watery eyes.

And then my sister Ava came running into my room like a hurricane. She was so annoying but she took care of everyone. She was 2 years younger than me but she helped Mom out in everything Mom did. She'd stick with her like a glue and that irritated Mom but Ava didn't care and that's the best thing about my sister.

My mom was so emotional sometimes and I was just like her.

I was 5'2 but my Mom and Ava are same in their 5 feet height. My Mom could pass as our elder sister and that annoyed us but we both loved her and she loved us even though we irritated her.

My Mom was 38 as she conceived me early in her 16th. She was a single mother, my dad passed away when I was 3 and my sister was 1 and we never remembered him and neither did my mom. So, we didn't talk much about him which was fine by me and my sister as well.

"Why are you crying Mom did you see her awakening she lookes like zombie when she wakes up" my sister said mockingly.

"I do not look anything like zombie. You idiot get out of my room."

"Oh you sure do just go and see yourself in a mirror"

"I do not" I said throwing a pillow at her but she dodged it as she was standing next to my mom.

"Shut up you two Emma you go and get ready baby and you girl come with me and don't tease your sister." Mom said taking Ava out with her. But Ava threw that pillow at me which hit me right in my face which makes her laugh and I scowled at her.

I came downstairs after getting ready when my Mom was making us breakfast.

"You look beautiful my baby" my Mom said looking up at me. I was wearing a blue silk dress which fell on my knees and had V neck and quarter sleeves.

"Come sit breakfast is ready" Mom called us.

As we were having breakfast my fiancé came looking handsome as always and that made me smile so big which was enough to make my day better.

He greeted Mom and Ava then came to me and gave a kiss on my check.

"Kyle come have breakfast with us" my Mom said.

"Thanks Olivia but I had my breakfast I just came to pick Emma up we are getting late"

"OK, let's go. See you guys at School" I said kissing my Mom goodbye.

As soon as we were outside my house Kyle gave me a lingering Kiss making me dizzy.

"I was waiting to do this ever since I saw you in this dress. You are looking stunning, baby," He said making me blush.

"Thank you"

"You look even more beautiful when you blush like this." He said pecking me on my lips.

"I think we should go now or we will be late," I said and he chuckled.

"OK Let's go."

He held my hand and we drove to school which was not too far from my home.

When we got out of the car he held my hand and I blushed, even after so many years it still happened to me.

My friends found me when we were on our way to the auditorium.

"Hi Emma. Hi Kyle" Lisa my bestfriend said. She had been my bestfriend since we were 2 or 3 I don't even remember.

"So are you guys excited" Riley said smiling so bright. She was always smiley and optimistic.

"Of course they are, what type of question is that Riles?" Maya said winking at me. She was so cheerful and bold which would make you forget your own problems.

"I just want to get it over with." I said which made Riley and Maya to raise their eyebrows.

"Graduation I mean," I said shaking my head.

After the graduation ceremony we clicked some photos and talked about my wedding. Riley and Maya were so excited given the chance they would get me married right now.

Lisa on the other hand was silent which was unlike her and I thought it was because of her breakup. She said long distance relationship was not her thing so she broke things up with her boyfriend.

Lisa left saying she was not feeling well but she would see us tonight at our graduation / my bachelorette party.

After Lisa left Riley and Maya also said goodbye and now I was looking for Kyle to go home. I hadn't seen him since we walked out of the auditorium. I was sure he was with his friends talking about his bachelor party.

I went to search him in the football field where he usually hung out with his friends. But he was not there as I was crossing the field I heard some noises coming out from boys locker room.

When I went there what I saw had my stomach churn and my head spin. Kyle was making out with Lisa. Then what I heard made me throw up.

"Kyle we are in a relationship for 2 years and now you're getting married to Emma. I can't do this anymore" Lisa said getting away from Kyle.

"I know babe trust me I won't get married to her you know I love you a lot" Kyle said pulling her toward him.

"Then break it up with her why did you let it last so long"

"I wanted to so many times but you know how emotional she can be I just didn't want to be the reason of her suicide or whatever emotional trauma she would deal with."

"I know but you have to. Now that you are going to California with me."

"I don't have to say anything to her. She will know when she won't find me tomorrow."

I put my hand on my mouth to stop myself from sobbing then I opened the door.

They were both shocked and confused.

"It's not what it looks like I can explain." Kyle said which made me angry more than sad.

"Explain how can you explain this? I trusted you so much Lisa," I said looking up at Lisa who was just looking down "We were friends I can't believe you would do this to me. And you Kyle I loved you but now I don't have anything to say to you."

"You know what I have to say Kyle, thank god I didn't give myself to you. Fuck off you both." I said and ran out of that fucking place.

In a minute my world shattered into million pieces right in front of me and I couldn't do anything except cry.
