Chapter 11 - Derek

I rang the doorbell of Emma's apartment; a girl who I assumed should be Maya opened the door. She smiled at me and let me in. I went inside and stopped dead on my track when I saw Emma. She was looking outstanding and way too alluring. She took my breath away right then and there. I just wanted to rip that dress out of her and make love to her right here right now. Oh, wait stop right there. It would be really hard to keep my hands off her. I swallowed hard and smiled at her.

"You look gorgeous," I said and gave her the bouquet of Lavenders I was holding. She had told me once Lavenders are her favorite.

"Thank you. I will go and put it in the vase." She smiled and went down the hallway. Their apartment was small but feminine and everything was decorated beautifully.

"Hi, I am Maya, Emma's best friend." I looked at her and introduced myself.

"Hello, Mr. Black," Riley said. She works for us so I know her but never talked to her.

"Please call me Derek," I said to her. She is Drew's date and he is not here yet. I had called him an hour ago; he said he would be here soon. He is never on time and I hate that about him.

"Do you know where Drew is? I tried to call him but he didn't pick up." Riley asked and I felt bad for her. He is never on time but it's not good to make a girl wait.

"I talked to him, he is stuck in traffic. He will be here soon." I lied to her because I didn't want to make her sad. Emma came back in the meantime.

"Please have a seat. Can we get you something to drink?" Maya asked me.

"No, thank you," I looked at Emma and she became agitated. I gave her an assuring smile. I dialed Drew's number and it went to voicemail again, I tried again but the doorbell rang. I took a sigh of relief.

"That must be him," Emma said and Maya tried to get up but I stopped her.

"I will get him," I said and went to open the door. Drew was standing with his tousled hair which screamed sex.

"You were having sex when someone was waiting for you," I told him irritatingly.

"What? I am just a little bit late, chill." He said casually.

"Have you lost your mind? You know how disrespectful this is."

"She is my friend unlike you; she will understand a man's need. Now get away and let me in." I sighed.

"Fix your hair before you go in." He fixed his hair and gave me his innocent smile, then walked past me.

"Hello, my beautiful ladies," He exclaimed, then kissed Emma's and Riley's check. "Sorry for being late." He smiled at Riley and she blushed really hard. I hope she doesn't like him because he is going to break her heart. Drew is not a bad guy but he doesn't do relationships.

"I think we should go," I said and they nod.

"Bye. Have fun you guys," Maya said in a happy tone and we smiled at her.

We walked out, got into our car with our date, and drove to the venue.

The drive to the venue was silent but it was comfortable. I had given Taylor the night off so that I could spend some alone time with Emma. I pulled off the car and got out to open her door. I gave her my hand to help her out, she hesitated a bit but then took it. I can tell she was nervous; she was biting her lower lip and trying to take a calming breath.

"Emma, it's ok. I am right here," I gave her an assuring smile and she nodded with a beautiful smile.

"What are you guys waiting for? Let's get inside." Drew said coming behind us. I gave Emma my arm and she took it. We went inside and saw Rachel with Lucas Hart. Now it's my turn to take some calming breath. He is not a bad guy but she is my sister.
