Ow, fuck! Ow! Jesus... My shoulders...

I sit up and lean against the side of the bed.

I fell. Dumbass.

Man. That was an amazing dream. Weird, but amazing. When I feel my limbs are okay, I stand with my hand still clutching onto my shoulder. I circulate my entire arm to check if my joint is okay- yeah. It aches, but it's fine. What time is it? I take a look at the alarm clock on the nightstand. The little hand on the eight and the big one on the four. I stretch and start digging through my duffel bag. Fresh shirt, jeans, socks, and my sneakers. I toss them on, brush my teeth and by the time I walk out of the restroom, Mrs. Taylor walks in with fresh laundry.

"Good morning, Ted, dear." She smiles at me and I get a familiar sense of deja vu. "Good morning, Mrs. Taylor." I smile shyly and she giggles. "It's Gail, honey." She says putting the basket down. "Sophie and your grandmother are downstairs with your mother, she asked me to call for-" but before she is able to finish, I'm out the door. "Thanks, Gail!" I yell and I see her stick her head out the door with a grin on her face.

I raise down stairs and halt. Oh, shit. Which way was the kitchen again? "West wing, down the corridor honey." I hear Gail yell from afar. "Thank you, Gail!" I yell embarrassed and head on. Wait...

"To your left!" Gail sounds farther away. I knew that.

"...It was heart breaking to leave, it truly was. But it was worse to find out that the person you trusted most betrayed you. And to have everyone join forces against you..." I hear a quiet, melancholic voice from around the corner- Mom. "It was selfish from our part, dear. We know that now. I only thought of my son's happiness and forgot about you. From behalf of my entire family, our sincerest apologies"

- "It's alright, Grace. It was ages ago. And you weren't aware of how delicate the situation was."

- "And since we all agree the past is the past, you and my Godfather are going to work on your relationship, right?" I hear a younger voice. Sophie!

- "Progress, I suppose. But don't tell him." I hear Sophie squeal happily and Grandma laugh. Mom is taking my advice into consideration! "You're just as ravishing as I remember, Ana darling."

- "Oh, Grace. You're also as beautiful." I hear grandma laugh. "I'm an old coop, darling."

- "And Sophie, you're so grown and gorgeous, just like I knew you'd be."

- "Aw, you're just saying that."

- "It's true." I say entering the dining room and they all turn their heads to me. I see pink crawling on Sophie's cheeks and I mentally punch the air in success. Yes! I pretend not to notice as I stop behind Mom and kiss her head. "Morning, Mom."

- "Good morning, baby." She smiles proudly. "Good morning, Grandma." I'm on my way to hug her but she stands and gives me a huge bear hug. Jesus! "Oh, Teddy darling, good morning!" Mom and Sophie giggle.

Suave me is no more. Thanks, Grandma.

I wrap my arm around Sophie and bid her a good morning. Oh, she smells amazing. Her signature vanilla perfume dances around my nose in sweet temptation. "How'd you sleep?" Mom asks me and I snap back to reality. "I slept okay. Though waking up wasn't exactly a good jump start." I say as I make my way behind Mom again. I take a look around the long dining table. On one side, theres landscapes and organic paintings throughout the walls. On the other side, there's an incredibly long and wide glass window that welcomes the rays of the sun into the room. I can't make out what's outside, because a small wooden fence surrounding the porch is in my way. Guess I'll find that out later on.
