Riley's Pov:
"Guess what!" My dad yelled walking into the kitchen.
"What now dad?" I asked used to his yelling.
"Shawn's coming!"
"Christmas was 2 weeks ago...."
"Yeah but his flight got cancelled cause of the snow and he missed his train but he's finally flying in today!" He said happier than usual.
"That's great! Now he can meet Maya!" I said excited.
"Yeah! And I get to see my best friend again!!!"
I decided to call Maya because I was so excited she was finally going to meet the older version of her.
*On the phone with maya*
Riley- guess what!
Maya- what
Riley- you don't sound that excited
Maya- look I'm tired and I stayed up until 3 in the morning
Riley- oh sucks for you
Maya- so why are you so happy?
Riley- Shawn is coming!
Maya- your dads other wife?
Riley- Shawn's not his wife. He's my dads best friend.
Maya- well the way your dad describes him sounds like he's in love with him
Riley- and you finally get to meet him!
Maya- oh yeah yay
Riley- again you don't sound excited
Maya- again I'm tired
Riley- uncle josh stop! I said stop!
Maya- what's going on?
Riley- uncle josh is being annoying
"Who's that?" Uncle josh asked
"Maya now shut up" I said putting my hand in his face.
Maya- Oh how is he?
Riley- fine. Do you still have feelings for him?
Maya- yeah. I always will.
Riley- well I know he still has feelings for you to.
Maya- thanks riles
Riley- anything for you buddy!
Maya- its 7:30, I'm on my way to pick you up.
Riley- ok see you then
Maya- bye
Riley- bye
*at Riley's house*
"Hey Matthews" Maya says coming through my front door still not excited.
"Good morning Maya! Are you hungry?" My mom says putting oatmeal on the table.
"No I already had breakfast"
"Maya sit. Your having breakfast" my mom said knowing Maya really didn't have breakfast.
As Maya sits down my uncle josh walks in and Maya just sits there looking down at her plate. I could tell she really wanted to see him but she didn't know what to say.
"Hello Maya" uncle josh says sitting next to me.
"Hi" she says still looking down.
"Are you ok" he asks concerned.
