Webby had a hard time getting the 'other,' Louie to sit still while she got a bucket of ice. She finally got the big tin bucket from under the sink, found some stored up ice that was in the freezer and scraped it out by using her hands and by the time it was half-way full her hands were freezing. She walked back over to the down slumped over Louie who's eyes were bloodshot and he was staring (or rather gazing) into her face.
She had a feeling he was thinking of the other Webby as he stared at her. The one he hadn't seen or talked to for five years. His pratical soul mate...
She only knows to well how he feels.
"Okay, you." Webby said.
She grabbed him by the back of the neck after putting the bucket of ice in front of him. He made a sour face and winced when her icy cold hands gripped the back of his neck. He felt his head emerge with the icy cold frezzer ice and he quickly lifted it up as he gasped for air.
"Okay, okay. I, I'm -." He tried but Webby ducked his head back into the ice bucket before he could finish, just to make sure before Louie forced himself up and pushed her roughly away.
"I'm said, I'm okay now!" He shouted at her.
Webby hit a cabnet hard and she groaned loudly as she slid slowly to the floor. The 'other,' Louie's eyes widen as he quickly rushed up to her.
"I, I'm sorry, Webs -. I, I mean. Webby. I -." He stammered, trying to find the right words. His heart pounded hard against his chest as Webby struggled to regain her balance.
"It's fine, Louie." Webby told him.
"No." The 'other,' Louie said, shaking his head. "It's not fine."
He knelt down face level to her and leaned in close to her and stared into her eyes pleading with her to understand. She did understand. But what happened next even she couldn't prepare herself for.
Louie kissed her. Softly at first, but then more firmly. Webby just froze, she didn't know what to do. This was Louie, but he wasn't her Louie. The kiss lasted a few more seconds before Webby finally got the nerve to push him away.
But gently.
Louie blinked, then Webby watched as his face slowly turned as red as a tomatoe.
"I -. I -." Louie slowly got up and backed away from her.
"Miss her." Webby told. She slowly stood up, her bill still warm from his kiss. Louie looked back at her sadly, and she could see the loneliness in his face. "That's why this is okay," She told him. "I get that you miss her, but -." She slowly walked up to him and punched him slightly in the arm. "don't ever do that again." She told him.
The 'other,' Louie smiled sheepishly at her and nodded.
"YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" Came Dewey's voice.
Webby and the 'other,' Louie looked at each other and rushed out of the kitchen.
Webby saw Dewey tackling Huey to the ground. The 'original,' Louie watching with a bemused look on his face. Webby slowly side stepped Dewey and Huey as she rounded over to her Louie.
"What's going on?" She asked.
"Huey brought up the idea of you being bait." Louie told him, then his eyes darted for his double who quickly looked down at the ground. The 'other,' Louie couldn't look at him. "Turns out he had the same idea." His eyes narrowed at the 'other,' Louie
"You finally got him to sober up?" He then asked her.
"Yeah." Webby said, a bit nervously.
"How?" Louie asked, raising an eyebrow.
Webby felt a knott form in her stomach. She felt guilty about the kiss, and was about to tell him when in the middle of all the commotion the underground roof began to crumble and the roof caved in around them.
Everyone quickly darted out of the way.
Louie grabbed Webby's hand and pulled her to safety while Huey did the same for Dewey. The 'other,' Louie grabbed Huey's gun from the holter on his back and pointed it up quickly at the sky just as a swarm of Huey bots started swarming in on them.
"Like one Huey is bad enough!" The 'other,' Louie shouted. He started blasting them like a highly trained G.I. Joe warrior. He glared over at Huey and Dewey.
"You lead them right to us!" He snarled at him.
"Yeah, like we wanted to do that." Huey shot back at him. 'We didn't -." But then stopped when a laugh stopped their aruging.
The other Huey and Louie froze as they slowly turn their head.
B.O.Y.D stood in the middle of the swarming Huey Bots. His eyes blazing as they darted from the 'other,' Louie, to the Originals then finally settleing on Huey.
"Hello, Huey, or should I say, Father?" He asked. He used his rocket boots to glide down towards them. Huey gripped Dewey's arm tightly.
"F,Father?" Both the original Louie and Dewey stared at Huey.
"Don't read to much into it." Huey pleaded at them. "It was a long time ago, I built him, right after -." He stopped and looked over at the 'other,' Louie who was busy shooting the Huey Bots. "Use the teaser." Huey said under his breath to Dewey as B.O.Y.D came slowly up to them. The 'other,' Louie was having a hard time trying to keep the Huey Bots from over running them as he shot at them constintly. "NOW!" He hollard at him as Dewey continued to stare at him.
With shaky hands Dewey pulled out the teaser, B.O.Y.D narrowed his eyes at him and rushed at him right as he pressed the button and disappeared, making B.O.Y.D rush for Huey instead. Huey did some impressive combat moves on B.O.Y.D as Dewey crawled his way towards Louie and Webby.
"Guys, I think we ought to let them work this out. Don't you think?" He whispered to them, making them jump. Louie and Webby looked around for him. Dewey sighed and tapped Webby on the arm she turned in his direction. "Come on." He grabbed both Louie and Webby's arm and janked them towards the exit.
They made it out safely just as something exploded behind them. Webby whirled around.
"NO!" She shouted, and was about to rush back, but Louie grabbed her arm.
"They're fine. But we won't be unless we move!" Louie shouted, for the blast from the explosion had made his ears start to ring. He pulled her back into him and into the bushes with Dewey just as the sound of more Huey Bots swarmed around the bunker.
Dewey looked quickly at Louie and Webby.
He knew what he had to do.
He became visible again, Louie and Webby stared at him in alarm.
"D,Dewey? What do you think doing?" Louie asked, as Dewey tossed the teaser to him.
"Doing what I do best." Dewey told him. Webby's eyes widen as he stepped out from the bushes. "Making trouble." Dewey looked towards the swarming robots that guarded the entrence into the bunker.
"No! Dewey don't!" Webby wailed. She clinged to this arm, Dewey look forced himself to look at her. He was at least going to make good on his oath he made, and protect Webby. "Remember what we promised." He told her, glancing over at Louie who stared at them with a confused look on his face.
Webby's eyes filled with tears as she watched Dewey slowly back away from her.
Louie didn't know what to do as the swarm of Huey Bots spotted Dewey and quickly snatched him up. One of the Huey Bots alerted B.O.Y.D who came out withut the 'other,' Louie and Huey. The original Louie stared at his brother as he ascended into the sky with Webby crying softly into his shoulder.
All was exstreamly quiet after awhile before Louie slowly lifted Webby's face, she hiccuped and looked up at him, her eyes bloodshot from crying.
"What did you promise?" He asked.
That only made her cry harder as she slammed her face into his shoulder again. Louie sighed deeply and guided her back towards the bunker.
Louie motioned for Webby to wait at the foot of the stairs as once they descended the narrow carridor as he rushed over to the 'other,' Louie and Huey who were beaten up pretty badly.
"Why didn't he take you?" Louie asked once he helped them up. Huey groaned as he rubbed his head. B.O.Y.D had knocked him out. His vision was blurry and he could barely stand. The 'other,' Louie was just as worse with burnt marks all over him, and a nasty bruise on his eye where a Huey Bot punched him
Louie felt just how his double looked.
Awful.
"I, I don't know." His double muttered. "It doesn't make sense -." He stopped and looked around in alarm. "W,Where's Dewey?" He asked in alarm.
Huey saw Webby's eyes fill with tears again and the 'orignal,' Louie's face glared down at the ground, unable to look at them.
"T,they took him. They took Dewey." Louie grumbled.
"Oh, no." Huey said, his heart sinking.
So, this was it, this was how B.O.Y.D plan to break Huey. By using the one thing that had hurt him the last time.
He looked from the the two Louie's then to Webby who stared back at him with bloodshot, tear stained eyes eyes. Huey's hands slowly slid down his side and he clinched them into fists.
No.
He wasn't going to let this happen.
Not again.
