Dewey watched as B.O.Y.D grabbed his Louie back with one hand while keeping his double tightly in his other. Webby stood frozen, unable to move or even shout at him to stop. Dewey's heart pounded hard against his chest.
"Y,You leave them alone!" Dewey shouted as B.O.Y.D started dragging them to what looked like a midevil torture device that reminded Dewey of something Glomgold would have.
B.O.Y.D just chuckled and looked back at him.
"Gladly." B.O.Y.D told him, "once you tell us what we want to know." He looked towards Nega Duck who narrowed his eyes at him. "I'm sure he's done told you what it is we are after. Couldn't even get it out of him yourself, eh? Nega Duck?" He smirked.
"I was just about too, until you barged in!" Nega Duck snapped.
Dewey's eyes widen.
So, Nega Duck was just another stratagy attempt to get him to talk while the other two captured the Louie's.
Great. Just Great.
Little did they all know that Dewey had done thought long and hard about the object and how'd to find it. He felt deep down that he had made the right choice, even if all this went down the wrong way. He knew it would all be fine. Even if he in the end wouldn't be.
"I, I'll tell you. Alright." Dewey stammered as B.O.Y.D made it to the torture device. Louie stared at it. It was just like the one he seen in the hologram back in the pit while fighting with Huey. He gulped and looked behind him at Webby.
How could he get through to her?
The curse had already subsided while he had been passed out. It was the most horrible one yet, and he was still recovering from it. If he was put in the device, he didn't know how much longer he'd hold out with just pure guts and emotions.
"W,Webby has it." Dewey told them.
B.O.Y.D stared at him and Webby blinked.
"M,My Webby. She, She's got what you are looking for." Dewey insisted.
B.O.Y.D let out a huge groan of frustration.
"You are telling me we have to go back and get that little -." He stopped, and a smile slowly spread across his face. "Okay." He said finally. "But I go alone this time." He glanced over at Webby who stared back at him, terror in her eyes. "I'm anxious to see how this other Webby is. Wonder if she'll be even more fun toying with then you have been. Webbigail." He taunted.
He turned to leave with both Louie's still in his grasp.
"W,What are you going to do with them?" Dewey asked.
B.O.Y.D paused at the door and looked back, an evil gleam in his eyes.
"Oh, I think I'll just drop them off for Goldie. She can decide what to do with them." He answered, earning him a sharp inhale and look from Webby. "Aww. Don't worry, Webbigail, you'll still be here, gaurding them." He said, nodding towards Dewey and Nega Duck. Wouldn't want you to feel left out, now would we?" He asked.
Webby felt a lump form in her throat at the look on her Louie's face. The desperate look of someone who was trying to reach out to her. Get her to come to her senses. But she couldn't, not as long as they had her Granny, Dewey, and now them.
She was utterly trapped within her own self as the people she cared for most was slowly being taken from her.
"Do not move from that spot." B.O.Y.D ordered her, interupting Webby's thoughts. "Or I'll just have to swing by to see your Granny before leaving." He told her.
He took one last look at Dewey, then her, and snickered as he started to leave with both of the Louie's.
"You won't get away with this!" Dewey shouted, suddenly.
That made B.O.Y.D turn aroud and slowly a smile crept on his face.
"We already have, Dewford. We already have." He said, slyly.
With that he marched out of the room, with both Louie's looking back at Dewey with terror in their eyes and pale faces.
"Um, are you always this..." Huey began as Webby marched herself towarords the diner, dragging Huey along beside her.
He was having a hard time finding the righ words to describe this Webby's sudden shift in personality, and by the way she was gripping her hand and the harden look on her face made Huey want to choose his words wisely.
"Determined?" He asked, finally.
He had never seen the original Webby like this before. Huey knew that being in the Nega  Verse, things are, well, reversed. Including a personality of that original person. He'd always thought that this Webby was the weak and pathetic type. that
Could it be that his Webby was just that? Weak and pathetic? Not strong and confident like this Webby? Was she just hiding that fact from all of them by acting tough and looking tough? Was it Louie who made her feel like she wasn't, is that why she fell for him instead?
He hadn't wanted those feeling for Webby to resurface. Not after what had happened that day, not after he let his feelings cloud his vision making what he thought had been the  truth actually make sense to him.
"I'm more then determinted," Webby answered, cooly. "I'm flat out pissed off!"
Huey winced when Webby shouted out that last remark. He stared at the back of her head as they trudged across the desert terrain towards the only shelter within miles.
He hoped that they'd be able to rest, because his legs felt like they were about to buckle underneath him. The feast they had just enjoyed together felt like it was hours ago for he started to feel hungry and most of all tired.
The battle in the Pit had taken most of his engery out of him, and he didn't know it was the fact that he was tired and hungry that his heart started to pound inside his chest, as he looked down at their hands and his heart skipped a beat.
He shooked him self.
No.
He can't have these feelings. Not now. Not for a number of reasons.
She's not from here. Long distance relationships never work out. She's with Louie...
They made it to the diner and Webby kicked open the door instead of gently pushing it with her hand making dust fly everywhere and throwing them both into a coughing fit. It lasted for about a few seconds then Webby let go of his hand and walked inside.
Huey felt his heart sink low in his chest. He didn't want her to let go. To leave him behind. He wanted her to stay with him. Kept him close to her.
The smell hit them first. It was the smell of rotten wood, rat droppings and despire. It was so strong that it made their eyes water. Webby focused past her watery eyes at the rusted out bar in the middle of the diner, cobwebs hung everywhere, rats scurried from the corners with yellow eyes fixed on them.
They didn't bother Webby though, she was more worried about the two figures behind the bar, rummaging through the old wine bottles and the food stacks.
"M,Magica?" Webby squeaked.
Magica froze then slowly turned. She had what looked like a dead rat in her mouth. Part of it's tail was hanging from her beak and she quickly slurped it up and smiled sheepishly at them as they slowly approched.
"Hello, Webbigail." Magica said, warmly.
Webby still wasn't use to the fact that Magica was pratically a good guy here while her double back in her world was a villian. She still couldn't believe that she and Glomgold were boyfriend and girlfriend.
"H,How are you here?" Huey asked. "Why are you here?"
Magica opened her mouth to answer when suddenly a loud, and angry shout came from the kitchen. She looked back through the diner window that seperated the front to the back. Then back at Huey and Webby before rushing to the back. Huey and Webby followed close behind and had to force back a laugh at the scene in front of them.
Glomgold was trying to get what little food was left away from the rats that sucrried along the kitchen counters. They looked like they each had a part what looked like a loaf of bread. Webby wondered why on Earth Glomgold want it after being handled by rats?
Webby glanced at Huey who was surprised to see him staring at the rats with hunger on his face as well.
Well, if you are hungry enough, you'd settle for anything. Survival rule number twenty-eight of what her Granny had tought her.
"Glomgold, darling." Magica said, "I doubt we'd get much out of that meal, anyway." She said as Glomgold tried to snatch he bread out of the rats mouth. It squeaked and scurried away and out of sight near a hold in the wall. "Why don't I try and conjure up a meal again?"
Glomgold looked over at her sharply.
He looked just as ragged and worn down as Magica. They both had bags under their eyes, both had worn out clothes and smelled like they hadn't showered in days.
Pratically living as sewer rats. Webby thought, and made a sour face at the thought.
"No. You are still recovering from the last time you used your magic. We can't afford for you to pass out again. Last time it was a few days until you woke up. Who know's how long it would be the next time..." Glomgold's face showed a moment of fear that made Magica smile lovingly at him.
"Okay, I'm confused here." Huey said, "Why are you guys here?"
"Well," Magica began, "it was right after the whole show down with Lena and Scrooge." She said.
Huey quickly looked over at Webby and thought she'd break again, but she just stared straight ahead, not showing any signs of weakness. Had he really lost that part in this Webby forever? Don't get him wrong, he didn't really want anyone to feel weak and pathetic, but he kind of hoped to have had someone he could comfort, someone to smother with support when things got totally out of control. He had that in his brother's once until...
He just wanted that feeling back.
But knew deep down inside that he probably never would.
"My powers sort of, well, went on vacation sort of speaking." She said, "I hadn't been able to conjure up anything since then, and with the Huey Bots suddenly coming out of no where, Glomgold and I thought it was best to go into hiding."
Magica looked towards Huey.
"They must really think highly of you to create that many robots to look like you." She said. Huey felt a stab of guilt and looked away.
No.
That wasn't it at all.
"So, what about you two?" Glomgold asked. "Got any food?"
Webby gripped the strap of her backpack. She did actually. She had put some in her backpack from the feast moments before all the chaos. As Huey told them what had happend since they've arrived she took off her backpack and opened it up.
She was about to bring out some apples, carrots, and a few stale crackers when she noticed something that hadn't been in her backpack before. She'd knew she hadn't packed it because she knew she'd never would have brought it with her.
It meant to much to her.
With shaky hands she pulled out the object and stared at it.
It was the photo of her, Lena, and Violet.
