"How is it that you guys use to live, here?" Huey asked, he gazed up at a ricky old building with windows boarded up and the roof missing a bunch of shingles.
After the deal with Mark Beaks, Glomgold suggested they get moving before anything else happened. They ended up in front of a complex building, with the only two remaining residents in attendance. Considering the other's have either disappeared or were in hiding. He wondered if he'd have to find the other's on his own, or once he saved both Louie's and the Original's get them to help and stop Goldie together.
He glanced at Glomgold and Magica who rolled their eyes.
"Property went down since the take over, young duck." Glomgold reminded him. "As I recall, you were the reason for that."
"Yeah, Yeah." Huey muttered. "No need to rub it in." He followed behind Magica who was heading into the building. Mark Beaks close behind Huey while Glomgold hung back, watching him with suspision.
Glomgold wasn't so eaisly convinced Mark was on their side. He had a hard time trusting anyone ever since Scrooge stabbed him the back so long ago. That memory still very fresh in his mind made
"The outside might not look like much," Magica told him a bit more gently, "but wait until you see the inside. You'll be baffeled. Just baffeled.." Magica said, proudly.
They entered the crummy old building and Huey's eyes widen. Magica was right. He was baffeled. Even though the building on the outside was old and crummy, pratically everything on the inside was new and named brand.
Including the high tech, top of the line computer system that stood on the far side of the wall, near a roaring fireplace. Huey slowly walked over to it, with Mark close behind.
"H,How'd you get your hands on this?" He asked, his eyes twinkled with anticipation. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Mark's fingers twitching as if begging him to start typeing."this kind of tech was banned..." He continued as he gently moved his fingers on the wide keyboard.
He knew, because he was the one who out lawed it back when he was a Law Enforcer.
"Can't reveal my sources, boy." Glomgold told him, raising an eyebrow at him. "You understand, I'm sure." He added when Huey looked back at him. Huey nodded.
Yeah, he understood.
"This is amazing!" Mark exclaimed. He looked towards Glomgold eagerly. "Mind if I...?" He aked. Magica and Glomgold looked at each other.
"Only," Glomgold said, "to help Huey." He told him.
"Right." Mark said, not a bit disappointed by the rule considering he was about to get on the most high tech of all computers he has ever seen. He quickly pulled back the chair and started typing feverishly for a couple minutes.
Magica went over to the other side of the computer and got out what looked like one of Webby's night vision goggles. She walked up slowly to Huey who fidgeted nervously as she put the goggles up and over his head and possitioned them up against his eyes.
These goggles were like ex-rays that helped see inside one's brain.
Huey could see out of the goggles and saw Mark bring up an image of the inside of brain and his heart sank. He saw where the chip was, right inside his cerebrum. It was as if the micro chip had become one with his brain, to the point where even surgery couldn't take it out.
"I have to die." Huey's own words echoed in his mind.
"So, what do you think?" Glomgold asked, coming up behind Mark and staring at the image of Huey's brain.
"I, I think we can work around him not having to die," Mark told him.
Huey's heart pounded hard against his chest.
"But..." Magica said, making Huey scowl at her. She looked over at him. "You know there's always a catch to these's kind of things, Hueburt." She scolded him.
Huey stopped scowling.
Yeah. There was always a but...
"But it's risky, he'll loose part of his memory if we do this." Mark told them.
Huey slumped down into gold and red chair.
Loose his memory?
"How much, and of what?" Glomgold asked the question Huey was thinking.
"Huey can choose which memory he can loose while I hack into the micro chip's main frame." Mark told them, his eyes not leaving the screen. "I can eaisly just delete them as if they were part of a computer instead of his brain."
Mark glanced over at Huey.
"You up for it?" He asked.
Huey thought for a minute.
Choosing his own memory to loose, so that the chip wouldn't harm anyone and he could still live? A small price to pay for everyone's safety, and they wouldn't have to keep running, because of him.
"Y,Yeah. Let's do this." He said, in a shaky voice.....
Meanwhile,
Louie had ran straight for B.O.Y.D who merely smirked at him and as soon as he got close enough lifted his leg and kicked him, hard. Louie shot backwards like a bullet and slammed into the wall next to Webby.
He fell hard on his stomach, and groaned loudly.
"You really think," B.O.Y.D said, as he abandond his double and slowly started walking towards him. "you two can stop me?"
Louie quickly tried to recover but a sheer pain erupted in his back left shoulder. He yelped and fell back down. He moved his face towards Webby who was still unconinsious. He ignored the pain he was feeling and crawled over closer to her.
"I only came by to gloat, ya know." B.O.Y.D continued,
Louie slowly moved Webby's bangs out from her face, and stared at her sadly.
"Come on, Webby." He pleaded, quietly. "Wake up, please!"
"Both Webby's have sparked something inside me, but it slowly disappears right after. I need to keep that spark, Louie." B.O.Y.D told him. "I may just keep this Webby along with her double, just to keep that feeling." He taunted.
"Webbs." Louie whispered. "I, I promise you'll never have to come here again, just, just wake up, for me. Please! I, I need you."
He heard B.O.Y.D's footsteps stop right behind him.
"But now, I think I'll just end up killing the two of you, just so I can keep the Webby's emotions in check." He snickered. "Wonder how'll they'll react knowing you two are dead." He continued, and he loomed over Louie.
Louie froze and slowly looked behind him and up at B.O.Y.D.
"Y,You can, can't -." Louie stammered.
B.O.Y.D rolled his marbel eyes and grabbed Louie by the top of the head, making him yelp in pain, as he lifted him up eye level to him.
B.O.Y.D being about six feet tall, while Louie was only five foot nine and short for being eighteen, was a long way up for him. The feeling in his head, and shoulder made it even worse as the pounding in his head began and the throbbing in his shoulder made him feel numb all over. B.O.Y.D got so close to his face that he could feel the radiated heat coming from his body and Louie wondered if this was how he hurt Webby.
If Louie ever saw this world's Huey again, he was going to have a little talk with him on his robot making ability.
"W,We can't stay in the world for very long." Louie tried again, wincing at the pain, "we'll -."
"I don't what that would do to you." B.O.Y.D interupted, rolling his eyes. "Think I care?"
"B,But then, then you won't have -." Louie stammered, trying to think of a way to save Webby, thinking of some loophole.
"I won't have this Webby?" B.O.Y.D finished, and laughed.
"Don't you think I've already thought of that?" B.O.Y.D asked him. "Don't you think I've already got something planned for when that happens?"
Louie stared at him.
"Then what -?" Louie asked.
"Ever heard of cloneing?" He asked.
"No! Y,You can't -!" Louie exclaimed.
"I don't think you understand, Lou-Lou." B.O.Y.D said. "You guys are never leaving this place. Not as long as I'm still functioning."
"I'm beginng to think," Louie said, as B.O.Y.D slowly started to put him down on the ground. "That Goldie isn't the real villian here."
B.O.Y.D smiled slyly at him.
"Took you long enough to figure it out." He said. "I'd have figured the Huey Bots roaming around, and the hostle take over would have given you a clue."
He let go of the boy's head.
"So, what is it you are really planning?" Louie asked.
"Look's like you guys are going to be here awhile." B.O.Y.D responded. "I suggest you take that time to figure it out."
Just then the door opened and Goldie marched in, fire in her eyes.
"B.O.Y.D!" She barked. "How many times do I have tell you, to do this sort of thing on your own time?" She snapped.
She glanced over at the Louie's then spotted Webby, lying on her back, eyes closed.
"You didn't kill her? Did you?" Goldie asked, coming over to her, and kicking her slightly with her foot. Louie's anger boiled over. If he wasn't so sore he'd have decked her right then and there, even if he would have gotten even more hurt by B.O.Y.D still standing there.
"You think I'd kill my play things? Goldie?" B.O.Y.D answered with a question and scoffed. "No. She's not dead, but didn't have the object on her."
Goldie looked at him, sharply.
"Then, why are you even here?" She demanded. "I need that to put my plan in motion!"
"I don't know where she -." B.O.Y.D stopped as sudden realization came to him. "Damn it!" He shouted, and punched the nearby wall that was right above Louie's double. His double yelped as the bricks from the wall landed on top of him.
Louie winced when he heard him scream, then just as quickly the screaming stopped.
"How could you be so naive?" Goldie snapped at him. "You were in such a hurry to play with this one -." She glanced down at Webby. "After this, I'm seriously considering cutting your play time in half." She snarled.
B.O.Y.D's eyes narrowed at her.
"Now, if you don't want that to happen, I suggest you get me that object before morning, or else!" Goldie told him. "Or I'll be forced to do it myself. Got it!" She demanded.
"Got it." B.O.Y.D muttered.
"Now, put the two Louie's in a different cell before you leave." Goldie instructed as she picked up Webby in her arms.
"What are you doing wth her?" B.O.Y.D asked.
"Putting her in with Dewey." Goldie told him as she headed out the door. "Perhaps she can get him talking, once she wakes up. Now. Get going!" She ordered.
B.O.Y.D watched sadly as Goldie took Webby, then after a long pause. He picked up the 'original,' Louie, tossed him into the cell. He didn't bother bending the iron bars back just yet, considering the condition he was in, and dug up his double from the charred rubble, then tossed him in right beside Louie.
Louie looked at his double. He looked as worse as he felt.
"Looks like I'll have to save the fun for later." B.O.Y.D remarked. Louie looked at him, tears swelling up in his eyes. B.O.Y.D smirked.
"If you don't want to end up like him," B.O.Y.D told Louie as he bent the bars back in place "I suggest you stay out of my way, or next time I won't go so easy on your precious little Webbigail." He snarled.
Easy?
Burning her was him taking it easy?
He glared at B.O.Y.D as he stalked out of the room, without a second glance back.
B.O.Y.D was done with this constant cat and mouse game for this damn object. He was going to get it, one way or another. Then, he could get back to playing his sick little games with the Webby's.
"Hope you are ready, father." He muttered, as he exited the castle. "Because, I sure am."
