i leaned back in my seat slightly as i waited for my screen to load up. i picked at my fingernails a little bit feeling nervous for some reason. hailey made the suggestion that we all went on zoom to talk to one another in real time instead of over texting and for some reason it just made me nervous. obviously, i've talked to alyssa and reagan before and dylan over facetime but talking to everyone else like sort of in person just kind of made me nervous. the screen split into 8 little squares and i sat up a little with a smile.

"oh my god, hey guys!" hailey exclaimed

"hey homies." alyssa says with a wave and i chuckle

"this is so cool, it's good to like see all your faces in real
time." avi says and we all nod in agreement

"yeah, thank me for the idea." hailey says

"yes, thank you hailey. much appreciated." i say with a chuckle feeling my nerves ease up a little bit.

"so what's everyone been up to?" alyssa asks

"um, school?" reagan says and we all chuckle

"i second that." dylan says

"me, reagan, and dyl are almost done though. like 2 weeks left i think?" alyssa says and reagan and i both nod

"what?! lucky. i have like another month." hailey scoffs and crosses her arms

"we're really not that lucky though. most of it is review for our finals." reagan says with a small shrug.

"ugh do not even remind me." alyssa groans and reagan and i snicker.

"who wants to bet that alyssa hasn't even been studying?" i say and everyone raises their hands. alyssa rolls her eyes and reagan and i smirk. we all knew alyssa well enough that she was a big procrastinator.

"harsh but you guys aren't wrong." alyssa says

"i have to take finals AND regents. disgusting." hailey says and i raise my eyebrow

"what are regents?" lara asks before i can

"they're tests that people in new york state have to take. i don't know, they're pretty stupid." hailey says

"couldn't relate." avi says

"don't you have to take like STARR tests or something though? that's kind of what we take here." alyssa says

"yeah something like that. i don't know, i'm just happy to get out of school for a few months." avi says

"agreed. this school year has been way too long." lola says

"really? i feel like it went by extremely fast." lara says

"it went by soo slow to me. i feel like i was stuck in march for the longest time." hailey says

"hey march is my birthday month." reagan says

"04 gang??" alyssa says

"all but lola. she's 05." dylan says and lola makes a face

"sorry not sorry." lola says and we all laugh

"so what should we do?" i ask

"i know, let's play a game." hailey says and smirks

"oh boy. do i like where this is heading?" dylan asks and i chuckle

"yeah, i second that." i say

"you'll like it, don't worry." alyssa says and i eye her through the screen and she just smirks.

"whenever you say that, i always end up not liking whatever we're gonna do." i say and cross my arms
