Joo Hyun ignored Yonghwa from that day; they have not spoken a word. Stolen glances and accidental eye contacts made everything awkward.
Chanyeol knew where he stands; he has come to like Joo Hyun just as a friend, he supports her as she supports him. He filled the empty seat Yonghwa has left when he chose Shin Hye over Joo Hyun. Love over friendship.
He smiled bitterly as he remembered how he ushered her after the pageant. Her eyes filled with tears and agony. From then he has sworn to protect her from ways he can possibly imagine.
From there he realized the person you love the most hurts you the most. “You love Yonghwa too much that he hurt you this much.” He thought “I’d rather remain as your friend forever than to cause you that much pain. I can’t bear to see you suffering because of me.”
He became a constant figure beside Joo Hyun especially after they decided to accept the offer.
Theirs is what you call a platonic relationship.

Joo Hyun felt Chanyeol had a change of heart. She felt more secured with him now than any other man, coz she knew Chanyeol became an indispensible figure in her life. And she was glad, coz she doesn’t want to lose him like Yonghwa. “Love and friendship does not really get along well .That is according to my own experience” she thought with a sad smirk on her face

Yonghwa has realized one thing. That it hurts to live without Joo Hyun in his life. It hurts to be ignored by her when all he wanted to do was talk to her, laugh with her and just be with her.
It hurts that he has been replaced. He misses her company terribly; he misses her smile that was especially for him. Her reddened cheeks when she got irritated by him and the way she called his name. “What has gotten into me?” he asked himself

Chanyeol and Joo Hyun went to SME after they contacted their agent.
They were told to rehearse the dance they performed on stage.
They danced their way in. SME liked them and signed them to be trainees.

Yonghwa went to FNC for an audition. He has prepared a song to sing, with him was his ever reliable guitar. No one knew about his plan, not even his parents. He doesn’t want to be bashed by either Joo Hyun or Chanyeol. He doesn’t want his parents to be disappointed in case he won’t get accepted.
In the audition, some friendly faces approached him with a smile, Jungshin a bassist.
They performed their best; they did what they were told. They danced though awkwardly and sang, they did an impromptu skit, to their surprise. But in the end all were rewarded with a yes.
The two of them including a well mannered boy Minhyuk, a drummer, became trainees.
They shook hands with one of their judges, Jong Hyun, the young singer who serenaded Joo Hyun during the pageant.

“Oppa congratulations!!” Shin Hye said smiling brightly while holding a cake. She rushed to meet him after she heard the news
He smiled back and blows the candles. “You don’t have to do this.”
“I wanted to!” she said “It has been awhile since you contacted me.” she studied his face
Yonghwa avoided her eyes and said “I was busy. That’s all.”
“And you don’t answer nor return my calls. Are you avoiding me?” she said probing
“Look I said I was busy.” He said slightly irritated. He took a deep breath and sighed trying to calm himself “We need to talk.” He continued and looked at her eyes seriously
Shin Hye felt nervous when he heard what Yonghwa said those words he uttered pre empts pain. She took a step back and shifted her gaze. “Uhmn, I’m not really available right now. I needed to go somewhere. I just went here to congratulate you. We’ll talk some other time. Bye.” She said in a hurry and went out of his apartment.
“Yah! It won’t take long” he tried to stop her. He sighed annoyed
“Sincha! Aigoo” he muttered to himself

Joo Hyun and Chanyeol are busy dancing at the studio, their sweat dripping like raindrops but they don’t care. Everyone in the room envy their closeness.
They may have different group but they tend to arrange their schedule at the same time of the day.
At that same time, Yonghwa was standing outside SME waiting for Joo Hyun. He knew she will come out any time soon. He knew all of her schedules for he has done his research thoroughly.
Joo Hyun emerged from the huge sliding door together with Chanyeol, her face flushed from rehearsal. She beamed to what has Chanyeol said. They walked into a nearby fast food chain and ate. He followed them and watched her with longing eyes.
He turned and walked his way to her apartment. His shoulders slumped “I can’t even find a time where she is alone.” He thought.
When he arrived, he positioned himself hidden behind a tree away from her view “I hope she’ll go home alone. I just want to tell her the good news.” He thought as he watched the apartment door, but to his dismay just like the other nights he was there, Chanyeol sent her home.
Joo Hyun tipped her toes to give Chanyeol a kiss on the cheek before she opened the door “Thanks. Goodbye, take care of yourself. See you tomorrow!” she said while waiving
“Yeah. Goodbye. Lock the doors and windows, okay.” He waived and started to walk away but turned back “Yah, can you fetch me instead tomorrow?” he said before she closed the door
“Sure! You’ll be the one to make breakfast then?” she smiled as he nodded “Bye!” she then closed the door
Yonghwa stood there frustrated. As soon as Chanyeol was out of sight he walked to the front door and rang the door bell furiously.
“Omo!” she was about to change her clothes when the doorbell startled her “Must be Chanyeol.” she said as her smile started to spread. She went directly to the door and opened it “Chanyeol-ah did you forget some….” Her sentence has stopped midway when she saw who was outside the door
Yonghwa barged in without invitation, he took off his shoes and sat on the floor, his eyes roaming around her apartment
Joo Hyun was taken aback by the sudden visitor to react. Her jaw dropped and her hand still on the door knob as she looked at him, making himself comfortable.
“Are you going to stand there the whole evening?” he said in a sarcastic tone “Close the door, it’s getting cold.” He continued as if it was natural of him to come to her place
Joo Hyun was too shocked to comprehend what he said. When he realized she won’t do as told, he opted to stand and close the door for her. He sighed as he guided her to sit
“Mianhe” he started while he sat opposite her. “If I scared you.” He said “I just wanted to talk to you”
