The next day Yonghwa was waiting for Joo Hyun in the front lawn when his mother called “Yonghwa -ah! Joo Hyun isn’t there yet?”
“Yeah, why?” he answered and went inside
“I forgot to buy cooking oil. Pali, buy one.” His mother said while giving him the money
“Arasso Omma.” He then ran off to the nearest store, which is Chanyeol’s.
“Chanyeol-ah! are you done eating?” Yonghwa overheard Chanyeol’s mom said as he was approaching the store
“Yeah. Omma, where did you put the toothpaste?” Chanyeol said while looking for it and continued when he heard no reply since his mom was attending Yonghwa “Omma pali! I have to go and fetch Joo Hyun.”
Yonghwa was about to leave when he heard what Chanyeol said. He ran as fast as he can, to reach home and gave it directly to his mother. “Mom, I have to go” he said hurriedly and ran out
“Joo Hyun-ah!” he called, Joo Hyun went out and held up an umbrella “Pali! We’re going to be late.” He held her wrist and dragged her
“Yah! Yah! Cha-chakaman! Chanyeol will be here in a while. Let’s wait fo…” she tried to tell him while being dragged but he won’t listen, the umbrella she was holding fell off “Yah! My umbrella!” she tried again but just the same he did not stop
“What is wrong with him?” she thought confused and angered at the same time
Chanyeol was a few meters away when he saw Yonghwa dragged Joo Hyun away hurriedly. He nodded in understanding, his mom told him about it earlier and he figured he heard what he said “You might not realize it but you, Jung Yonghwa likes Seo Joo Hyun. Tsk.” He then shook his head and smirked. He took Joo Hyun’s umbrella that is lying on the ground, and walks his way to their school.

When Chanyeol arrives, Yonghwa gave him a smile as if saying he’d won.
Joo Hyun rushed to Chanyeol as soon as he emerged “Chanyeol-ah, mianhe I was not able to wait for you.” She said and gave Yonghwa an accusing look
“It’s okay.” He smiled endearingly “I believe this umbrella is yours?” he handed it to her
“Ah!” she said surprised “Komawo! I thought I’d lost it.” She said pouting
“Aigoo” Chanyeol brushed her cheek affectionately, gave Yonghwa a glance and a smirk “Be careful not to drop it next time.” He continued as he guided Joo Hyun to their seat
“Yah, are you still going with me after class?” Joo Hyun asked Chanyeol as soon as he sat
“Of course!” he replied which made Joo Hyun smile
“Good. It’s a date.” she said and winked at him, he winked back
Yonghwa heard all of it and was about to explode, he went to the bathroom and rushed into the cubicle calming himself. “I’m her best friend! Why should she ask Chanyeol to be with her all the time?!” he fumed
He heard a couple of footsteps heading inside the comfort room.
“Don’t you think it’s absurd? Why would Chanyeol recommend that ugly Joo Hyun in a beauty pageant.” The guy said in which Yonghwa recognized as Jisuk “She doesn’t belong there, she should just go to the army with us!” Jisuk continued “Yonghwa is right Shin Hye should do it.” He chuckled “Not that b**ch Joo Hyun”
Yonghwa opened the door harshly upon hearing those comments. He pushed Jisuk to the tiled wall and grabbed his collar “Yah! How dare you call her names!” he said in a dangerous tone about to hit him
