Chapter 12

It's Quiet...Too Quiet

"How've you been?" Cassie asked as she poured two mugs of hot chocolate. It had been a week since I'd last spoken to Sean and after I told Cassie everything that happened, I freely opened my heart to her advice. She also informed me on everything I had missed that past week.

Sam had even told Elle about him being a werewolf. Naturally, she first thought he was trying to make fun of her and seeing as she has such a massive ego, she slapped him and ignored him for the rest of the week. Cassie had to go up there to reason with her and actually get her to fully understand...though it's a very hard thing to understand after all, finding out werewolves and supernaturals actually existed.

I always wondered if other supernaturals existed. I mean, if werewolves existed, surely some other story was true, maybe vampires or witches. Anything seemed plausable at this point.

"Fine, thanks. Just confused,"

"'Bout what?" she asked, sitting down on a dining table.

"It's been a week and Sean swore he... well I just thought I'd have more problems than this. It seems too easy,"

"Things go right sometimes, Ash. Just take it to be a positive thing. Maybe Sean realised he was acting out of line and backed off," she said, shrugging her shoulders.

"Sean's not that type of person...but maybe you're right. I've become too paranoid. I just feel like a sitting duck, just staring and waiting for something bad to happen,"

"You're just tense. Learn to relax a bit," she said and laughed.

"Why are you laughing?" I asked and smiled at her.

"It's just before this all happened, you were the one telling me to relax and live a little. Seems like we've switched roles is all," she replied, drinking some of the bubbly hot chocolate.

"So, is Elle okay with all of this?"

"It took her a while but yeah, she came through.  She threathened to call the cops on him once. I've never seen Sam so scared in my life. I feel bad to say this, but I actually enjoyed watching the drama unfold,"

"Not me though. I've had enough drama to last me a lifetime,"

"Who knew guys could be such divas!" Cassie chuckled as I laughed along with her.

"How have things been with Logan?" she asked, slouching closer to me.

"Great so far, actually."

"OoOo, going far with the Alpha, are you?" She wiggled her eyebrows.

"Shut up. Cass," I laughed an nudged her in the elbow.

"Ugh, we need to do something interesting. Being at home all the time sucks!" she announced.

"Oh right, you just reminded me. Logan and some other members of the pack are having a bonfire on the beach tonight. There'll be a barbeque and we're thinking of doing a volleyball tournament. He wanted to tell you himself but couldn't since he was busy with some Alpha stuff. You wanna go?"

"Do I? Of course, Ash!"

"Great! Mind telling Sam and Elle for me? I need to go get some things ready,"

"Yeah, sure. With Sam being around, I kinda miss the old Elle,"

"What do you mean, "the old Elle"?" I asked.

"Nothing...It's just she was so fun to be around, she'd joke all the time and get so excited around guys. I can just imagine her drooling over the guys playing volleyball," she laughed,"With Sam in her life now, she's just different is all,"
