Mates and Marks

"Hey Cass," I said, walking passed the door and closing it behind me and walzing to the sofa.

"Oh hey, Ash! You're early," she replied, pouring herself a cup of coffee and sitting down next to me.

"Yeah, it's too quiet at home and I needed to tell you a few things anyway,"

"What is it?" she asked worriedly, sitting back.

"Why did you give Logan my address?! You knew I didn't know what to do! Heck I still don't! I couldn't face him and you just went ahead and gave it to him!" I told her, frowning. She looked taken aback with my sudden outburst.

"Well, he's the Alpha! I have a certain loyalty towards him. Seeing him all worked up like that, I had to do something! He was going to send a search party for you! I didn't want him finding your house and breaking in to make sure!" She said, placing the steaming cup of coffee on the table as not to spill any.

"Too late for that," I mumbled, crossing my arms across my chest.

"Wait...what?" she giggled, "He broke into your house?!" 

I smiled, "Yes," I started giggling along with her. I never could stay mad at Cassie for more that 5 minutes. 

"I hid around a corner and smashed a lamp into his head," I said. After that she burst out laughing and after around 10 minutes of constant laughter, she wiped the tears off of her face and calmed down.

"Although, I don't know how he didn't sense me there or something. Didn't you say that mates, especially Alpha's could smell their mate from far away?" She bit her lip and thought about what I had said.

"Yeah, you're right about that...wait! Didn't Sean mark you at Sam's birthday party?" she asked, staring at my neck open-mouthed. "How the hell did Alpha Logan not realize that!"

"Heat of the moment? I don't know, he was beyond pissed and confused to really pay attention I think," 

"Well, what are you going to do?" she asked.

"I don't know, Cass. Feel free to make any suggestions. I need to decide before Sean comes back, it'll just make everything more complicated than it already is," She nodded.
