After telling Calum all about me and the problems I've been facing, I felt a lot closer to him which is kind of ridiculous because I just met him, but I've already developed obvious feelings for him. He was really sympathetic and kept reassuring me that he'd be there for me now and if Im ever sad, I should come to him. He's 18, only a year only than me so it's okay because I'm turning 18 soon anyway. When I finished talking, he told me about himself and said that his story is just like mine, but I think he's much more interesting. He likes to sing and he can play the guitar; which I found extremely attractive. He told me about his family and how his parents think too highly of him, which I could totally relate to.

I asked him if he knew what time it was and he pulled his phone out of his pocket.
"3:45am" he laughed.
"wow." I giggled. "I can't believe we've been talking for like 6 hours." I smiled at him.
"I like this. we should do this often." he said.
"okay well I'll give you my number and we can text whenev-"
Calum interrupted me.

"no I mean we should hang out more often. I like to hear your voice when we talk. I like talking about anything with you. But mainly I like to admire your beauty under these shitty street lights in the middle of the night. I like nighttime. Night time is my time. But sharing it with you is fun." he spoke boldly.

I blushed furiously and was happy that he couldn't see it in the dark. before I could say a polite thank you for the adorable compliment he just gave me, he spoke up again.
"Hey lily, love, you should know that I've adapted to the darkness of night time, and I can see you blushing, but don't worry I think it's cute." he smiled cheekily.
I blushed even more somehow, said a quiet thank you and put my head down.

"I like night time too by the way. I think it's comforting and peaceful. I like sharing it with you too Calum."
we both smiled.

My once comfortable position on the swing set was starting to hurt my back so I got up and sat on the floor in front of Calum. he smiled down at me and kept his gaze on me for a while. almost as if he were admiring me.
Who am I kidding, I'm nothing to admire, I'm not even pretty. I have boring blonde hair and regular blue colored eyes. there's nothing special about me so why is he staring at me?

"you're pretty." he simply stated.
I laughed. he must be joking.
"I think you're pretty." he repeated.
"thank you cal." I smiled. just accept the compliment, I told myself even though I knew he was most likely lying. "now come on We're at a park at our favorite time of day let's do something fun!" I smiled.
he still sat on the swing looking down. for a second I thought something was wrong until I noticed he was smiling.
"why are you smiling?" I asked.
"you called me cal." he giggled like a little school girl. he seemed ecstatic. it's just a nickname.

"yeah it's my new nickname for you." I smiled at him knowing that I was the reason for the smile on his face.
" I like it." he responded. "Can I call you Lil?" he asked with a goofy smile on his face.
"I guess so. if you really want to." I agreed. I didn't love the nickname but I liked when he said it.
all of a sudden he tapped me, said "you're it!" and started running towards the slide. I laughed and ran after him.
He climbed up the ladder and went down the slide not knowing that I was at the bottom waiting to tag him.
He slid to the bottom and hopped up onto his feet. he was about to start running but I jumped out from underneath the slide and hugged him from behind. I could feel his body tense up at my touch but instantly relax.

he turned around and repositioned our hug. his huge arms were draped over my shoulders while my smaller arms were wrapped around his torso, my face buried in his chest. He smelled like some manly cologne but it was hot as fuck.

"why are we hugging?" I whipsered. "we just met." my conscience told me to let go of him and confirm 100% that he wasn't a crazy murderer, while my heart & brain told me to hold onto him and never let go.

"I know, it's so wrong, but it feels so right Lil." he whispered in my ear.
