Me and Calum were walking side by side to my house, then we were going to go on our date. we were a block away from my house and I told Calum to wait there so my parents wouldn't see him and said I'd be back in about 15 minutes. He stopped at the corner while I kept walking towards my house. I heard a wolf whistle and I turned around to see Calum with a huge smirk on his face. I laughed and kept walking.
once I got to the front of my house, I fixed up my hair a little bit, adjusted my clothes and opened the front door. I walked inside slowly, expecting to see my parents and prepare for the lectures they would give me. But as I looked around the house, I came to the conclusion that they weren't home. I walked into the kitchen and saw a note on the counter. it said:
dear Lily,
We have gone away for a few days. t
There's a reason though. By the time we get back, you need to be moved out and living somewhere else. I know this might be a lot for you to take in, but we can't deal with you anymore. we will always love you. take care of yourself.
love, mom and dadI didn't know what to think. Part of me was devastated that my own family never wanted to see me again. But the odd, sick part of me was happy that I'd never have to deal with them again.
I decided to push these thoughts away for now and go upstairs to get changed quickly for my date with Calum.I knew I had to hurry up because I didn't want to make him wait too long down the block. As the day went on it got a little cooler, and the summer breeze picked up, making my clothing options increase.
I decided to wear black leggings, grey vans, a white crop top with a red moon, and a maroon cardigan.I redid my makeup quickly because it was a mess from last night and I ran down the stairs and out the door. When I reached the end of the block, Calum wasn't there. after about 5 minutes of waiting, he showed up wearing a red greenday shirt and the same black jeans and black converse.
"sorry I just ran home to change quickly." he said a little out of breath. I guess he really did run.
"that's okay." I said understandingly. "would you like get ice cream?" I asked.
he nodded and smiled. He grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers and I internally screamed. I kept my head down as we walked, staring at our hands and wondering how I got so lucky. I think I really like him but I'm giving it some time so I can get to know him better.
I kept thinking about my parents and I couldn't hold it in from Calum anymore.
"My parents are kicking me out of the house." I said quietly, still looking down.
"what do you mean? why?" he asked with a concerned expression.
"they don't want to 'deal' with me anymore or whatever. I don't really care because I hate them anyway but I have no idea where I'm gonna live." I looked up into his eyes.
He looked sad for a moment, until his face lit up drastically. He smiled brightly and started jumping around. he stopped walking and grabbed my other hand so we were facing each other.
"I have a great idea that is kind of risky but I would love to try it." he smirked.
this made me kind of nervous and I wanted to know what his "great idea" was.
"well what's the plan?" I asked anxiously.
"You no longer have anywhere to live is this correct?" he asked. I nodded."And you hate your school." he said. I nodded. "And I hate my house and school." he added.
"Cal come on get to the point!" I interrupted him before his next sentence. I was dying to know his idea.
"run away with me." he stated with a huge smile on his face.
I thought about it for a second, then looked up at Calum and smiled widely. He knew what that meant.
"So I guess it's settled." he smirked. "We're running away."
