I liked our new friends. After we introduced ourselves fully and everyone told their background story, we were all pretty much best friends. Fiona, Catherine and Jordan were all extremely pretty and I felt a little self conscious as I sat next to them in front of 4 very attractive boys. What if Calum left me for them or something? I shook of those thoughts and focused on reality.
"Lil, we should get going soon. We need to find a place to sleep." Calum spoke softly in my ear as he rubbed my arm gently. He's so gentle but hot at the same time I don't understand.
"okay." I said.
"do you need a place to stay?" Ashton asked, overhearing us.
"oh, yes we do but we'll just go look around for a hotel for now." Calum said politely.
"Oh! I have a cousin who owns one of the nicest hotels in NYC! that's where we all stay. I'll tell him to lend you two a room." Ashton said enthusiastically.
"Oh no, we couldn't!" I said, feeling bad. "We can find a place." I finished.
"No I insist!" Ashton pushed.
"okay thank you so much." Calum said.
he smirked at me.We all started walking to Ashton's cousin's hotel while Ashton was on the phone with his cousin, reserving a room for me and Calum.
"So how long have you two been dating?" Catherine asked me and Calum.
I looked down, then up at Calum, and back to Catherine. Calum had a worried expression on his face.
"Oh we're not dating." I said quietly. "Just friends." I confirmed.
Catherine nodded and went back to her conversation with Michael.
There was obvious tension between me and Calum after that question, but I forgive Catherine for asking that; she didn't know. She's still one of my best friends.
Calum reached to hold my hand and I gave in and intertwined our fingers. I looked up to see him smiling at our hands. I looked up at him and he looked back at me. He leaned in a pecked me on the lips. It wasn't long, but more of a reassuring kiss. It made me smile.
When we got to the hotel, everyone said our good nights and told each other we'd see one another in the morning. Ashton gave us our room key and we took the elevator up to the huge suite. We walked in and I was amazed. It was beautiful. There was a huge bed to the left of the room. In the right corner, there was a huge dining room table with a sparkling chandelier hanging above it. there was a modern kitchen with everything in it. There was a walk-out balcony. My favorite part. Calum looked overjoyed.
It was late so he suggested we go to sleep. I happily agreed.
we took our shoes off and shut off the lights. We somehow found our way through the dark and got into the huge king sized bed on opposite sides. Immediately our bodies found each other and he held me close. I put my head on his chest and sighed a little louder than I thought.
"I like you." he said, repeating what he said last night.
"I like you too." I responded.
"Lily, will you be my girlfriend?" he asked gently.
"yes Calum." I said without hesitation. I could tell he was smiling thanks to the little light from the city buildings shining through the window.
"I'll protect you babe. I'm here for you now. We'll be okay. We have each other." I smiled slightly, and then fell into a deep, comfortable sleep.
