We arrived in LA at about 5pm. Calum held my hand as we stepped out of the airplane. I looked over at Calum to see him staring at the scenery in front of us. There was a gorgeous, bright sunset. Colors swirling and mixing with blue and pink and red. It made me happy. It was an odd feeling. I was happy to be in California with Calum.
We were going to be alright.
*5 years later*
Calum and I got married last year. We flew back to NYC to see our friends and have our wedding there, so they could attend. We hadn't seen them in 4 years, so to say I missed them was an understatement. Of course we've all kept in touch but have never actually visited one another. They'd all be the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Michael cried when he saw me. He ran into my arms and we fell to the floor in the middle of the NY airport. The girls pushed him off me, obviously missing me too, and tackled me in a group hug. Wow I missed them all so much.
The wedding was beautiful and perfect. I can't believe i married a man who I met in a park in Pennsylvania at 9pm at night. I can't believe I ran away with him. But I'm glad I did. Running away was the best decision of my life.
