Chapter 7

"Now that you're calm kid. Please heal yourself. Only your own magic can really heal that kind of wounds." The man ordered her to do and seeing her injured skin made her wince. Not that she can really feel anything. But she winced on how it looks under the bright lights.

Without any further convincing, she healed herself with her own magic. She knows she'd supposedly do it even before she passed out. But remembering about what happened from the attack they suffered made her panic and instead she suppressed her own magic in an attempt on not repeating what happened that night.

"I actually heared rumors about an attack on East Earth. Ang sabi-sabi ay wala daw nakaligtas mula sa pagsalakay." The old man said looking at them. Seeing Spring's confused look the old man introduced himself.

"Just call me Mr. Hwang. I'm the owner of this shop and I'm a healer originally from East Earth. Tuluyan lang akong namalagi dito sa West Wind ng makapangasawa ako ng taga dito." He explained to the clearly confused girl.

"The potion I gave you is a calming and a natural compression one by the way. If you compress that much magic without any help of charm or a potion, it will only tire you out." Patuloy na pagpapaliwanag ni Mr. Hwang. Indeed, Spring can feel her magical aura shrink which is nice. She'd been compressing her own magic and maybe that's why up until now she can feel her core drained.

"West Wind?" Ang singit namang tanong ni Zan. If Spring remembered correctly, nasa North Fire sila so how the hell did they end up in West Wind?

"I see that Vroj didn't tell you anything about my shop." After Mr. Hwang said that saglit na inilibot ni Spring ang paningin nito sa kwarto kung nasaan sila kasalukuyan. There's nothing spectacular or weird at first not until she saw the outside through the small window. She can see some big rocks floating in the air. It's honestly look like small islands in the air.

"The Floating City." She said with awe and amazement.

"You're not completely wrong. What you can see from the small window is indeed the Floating City. But my shop is not part of the city. We're currently on a forest below the city." The old man said which further confused her.

"But why? Aren't all people from West Wind lives within the Floating City?" Spring asked once again. She'd heard stories from some of their buyers from the farm na ayon sa kanila lahat ng tao sa West Wind ay nakatira sa Floating City. They are said to be very prideful people and with their ability to actually manipulate air and make things that includes air pressure, napakadali para sa kanila ang magtravel from one rock island to another.

"All accepted people lives in the Floating City. While those people that they think are undeserving or a bad influence that can affect their reputation, they outcast them and instead lives in the forest beneath it." A girl suddenly explained. Spring look at her confusedly because she didn't notice her. Her magical aura is so faint that it honestly feel almost nonexistent.

"Hello. I'm Autumn." Pagpapakilala nito. She smiled at Spring which she returned hesitantly.

"Anyway, I suggest that she should stay here for now. We need to monitor her magic and also find something to help her compress her magic without straining her own body and core." Singit naman bigla ni Mr. Hwang.

"Living in a very judgmental society, I know the need to compress and hide your true power. Unfortunately, jealousy and greed tends to be the reason in committing crime in Wizard Town." The old man sigh.

After what happened, both Spring and her brother decided to stay at the shop, Vroj went back to the manor promising na susunduin ang magkapatid sa umaga. Vroj was still a part of a noble family and they tend to question everything he do so he better lie low to avoid suspicion especially after what her bitch of a cousin did to his friend's little sister. It was traumatizing even for him. Both of the thought and sight of someone burning and seeing someone he knows burning and skin's melting.

Thingking of what happen, he decided that when he comes back in the morning to Mr. Hwangs shop he needs to buy illusion charms to hide the old stable and also to bribe his cousin of not saying anything.

Walking back to manor and entering the grand and empty hallway, Vroj cannot help but to think how suffocating these halls are. Seeing his friend and hearing their troubles, he can't help but to wish that he live somewhere alone with a decent and not too big house where he can offer shelter and safety to people who needs it.

"Good morning!" Was the cheery greeting made by Autumn. Kakagising lang nito and the first thing she found in their kitchen are the two sibling they met the night before.

"Morning." ang malumanay naman na sagot ni Spring. She was making breakfast to thank the two strangers that help her yesterday. They offered them a free pass to  everything in the kitchen so instead she made them breakfast to relay her gratitude.

"Do you need help?" The brown haired girl asked Spring.

"No, but thank you." And sagot naman ni Spring. For some reason Autumn feel dejected and disappointed. She wanted to befriend the girl who seems to have a lot of similarities to her. She wanted to know her more.

Pouting she then sit just beside Zan. With nothing to do she immediately noticed the absence of a certain familiar.

"Spring?" She asked carefully not wanting to upset the girl. It's really weird but she want to be on the girl's good side and be her friend. Nang binalingan sya nito ng tingin, Autumn felt relieved.

"Where's your familiar?" Tinaasan naman ng kilay ni Spring si Autumn. After a few seconds of seizing the girl, Spring saw nothing malicious from the girl so she answered her question.

"There." Spring answered at tinuro ang maliit na tuta na natutulog sa lap ni Zan.

"What?" Autumn asked confused.

"That's another size or form he used. According to him, his size last night is not really his true form so don't ask me how big he really is." Spring said and then go back to her chopping and cooking.

Autumn just stared wide eyed. It was rare to have familiar that big like the alpha wolf she saw the night before. But having a familiar that can change form or size is another level of rare. Searching and feeling Spring's magic gave Autumn a preview of how much magic and power she have. But now learning the nature of her familiar, she become more aware of her and Spring's similarity in level of magic. If only she's lucky enough to acquire a familiar. She wanted to ask some more but then Mr. Hwang entered the kitchen.

"Good morning." The man greeted and everyone greeted him back. And as if having the perfect timing, kakatapos lang din ni Spring lutuin and kanilang agahan. Seeing the now cooked food, Autumn immediately stand up para tumulong sa paghahanda ng pagkain.

They ate their breakfast silently.

After their breakfast agad na nagligpit ng pinagkainan si Autumn while Mr. Hwang informed them that he needs to open the shop and check their inventory. Sinabihan naman nya ang magkapatid to just do whatever they want and wait for Vroj to come fetch them. Seeing it as an opportunity Autumn immediately asked the two to help her in their garden.

Observing the other girl, Autumn can't help but to think that there is a reason why she's so interested with Spring. She think that their similarity is a big factor. It's like something is telling Autumn that befriending the other will help her understand the nature not only of the others' magic but also hers.
