I heard Roman and Logan follow close behind and soon Virgil and I were enveloped in a group hug. I pulled back slightly, looking Virgil in the eyes.

I felt the courage that overtook him as he spoke. "Can I kiss you?" He asked shyly.

Virgil's POV

Patton beamed, unadulterated joy lighting up his face, and I felt a smile tug at my own lips from his infectious enthusiasm. "You may," he said brightly.

Taking a deep breath, I leaned in, Patton meeting me halfway, our lips connecting. While the kiss with Roman was filled with passion, the one I was sharing with Patton was encumbered by gentleness, a soft and slow expression of affection.

I felt Patton smile into the kiss as he tightened his hold on me marginally. I distantly registered the others pulling back from the hug, my awareness centering on Patton. I returned the smile and we kissed for a couple more seconds before he pulled back, both of us grinning like fools.

I turned to Logan, who gave a small smile when we made eye contact. "Can I kiss you, Virgil?" I nodded and leaned in. Logan's hand came around to hold the back of my head as he kissed me.

A few seconds into the kiss, we were interrupted. "Jesus Christ, get a fucking room, you four!" Remy groaned, blocking them from view with his hand.

"Language," Patton reprimanded gently. I blushed brightly, yet was unable to remove the smile from my face.

"Sorry, Rem." Patton looked at me with a kind expression.

"You don't need to be embarrassed, V," he reassured. I tilted my head slightly, confused. Are my emotions that obvious?

Patton, clearly sensing my confusion, explained. "Oh, my Gift is empathic synesthesia." I scrunched up my nose. What? "It means I can see others' emotions," he elaborated.

My confusion did not lessen. "Gift?" Remy sighed from across the room.

"Babes, Patton, hun, I've been trying to introduce him to stuff slowly. He doesn't know what Gifts are yet."

"Oh, oops," Patton responded sheepishly. Roman waved his hand in front of him.

"Wait wait wait wait. Wait. Hold up. Wait just a second. Pause. Hold your hor-"

"Spit it out, Roman," Remy ground out, clearly annoyed by his antics. Said witch rolled his eyes.

"Why are you teaching him stuff? Furthermore, why does he still need to be taught?" The question was directed at the sunglasses-clad man.

"I'm right here, dipshit," I huffed goodnaturedly. Roman flashed me a brilliant smile.

"Apologies, my dear storm cloud." My face turned a unique shade of red, much to Remy's amusement.

"But seriously, what are Gifts?" I asked, frustrated to be out of the loop.

"Gifts are a phenomenon that occur in witches, and are a skill, or affinity towards a skill in the case of Spirit Witches, that does not directly correlate with a witch's subclass. They often-" I cut logan off.

"In English, please." It was apparently Logan's turn to be confused, his face contorting adorably as he opened his mouth, presumably to question what I meant. Before he could, however, Remy spoke.

"Think quirks from My Hero Academia but like in addition to our powers." I nodded in understanding.

Logan coughed and adjusted his glasses. "I suppose I could've posed my statement that way as well, but that is now moot."

"But, to answer your question, Roman, I don't know that much about witches because my mum is human and my dad, as you know, died when I was younger and didn't teach me all that much about them. Remy is teaching me because he's my best friend, and I asked him to. My friends Talyn and Joan have also helped me learn magic," I explained, not wanting Roman to feel confused.

"Why have I never met Talyn and Joan?" Patton questioned, looking a little put out.

"They're dead," I stated bluntly. Thomas, who had risen up at some point during the interaction, thoroughly enjoyed the awkward reaction from my three boyfriends, and popped into existence mid-laugh. Said boyfriends nearly jumped out of their skin at the sudden appearance, which only made Thomas laugh harder.

"Virge, you should- you should've seen their faces!!" Thomas was crying mirthful tears. I decided not to point out that I had seen their reactions as he continued. "They were like 'Oh, shit, what do I say?' and it was so-it was so funny!"

After approximately 1,000 minutes, my brother's laughter died down, prompting Logan to extend his hand in greeting.

"Salutations. Thomas, I presume?" At Thomas' nod he carried on. "My name is Logan. It's a pleasure to meet you." The aforementioned man shook Logan's hand, a bright smile on his face.

"I know," Thomas said cheerfully. "Just because you've never seen me doesn't mean I haven't been around." Logan nodded thoughtfully. As soon as he stepped away from Thomas, Patton lunges forward, engulfing Thomas in a hug, making him stumble. A smile found its way onto my face.

"Thanks for being there for Virgil," Patton said. Thomas returned the hug.

"Of course."
