Sadè POV

"Hey dad" I said letting him in the house and he kissed my forehead.

"Was good baby. I would've came back last night but I heard- Well, I'ma just say you were... Busy." He said and he made a face afterwards.

"What was I-" I started off then stopped because I knew he was referring to me and Roddy and I gasped.

"Dad I'm-"

"Aye.. Let's not talk about it okay.." He said chuckling. I rubbed my face. Wow I'm embarrassed.

"Okay.." I said.

"You grown, you ain't gotta cover yo face. Come on, he here?" My dad asked as we walked in the kitchen.

"He left this morning." I said handing my dad a plate of food.

"Oh okay, I have some bad news though" My dad said sighing.

"What?" I asked.

"So I gotta head home today, back to New York." He said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Some important shit I gotta take care of out there, my wife is in the hospital." He said and I gasped.

"What happened?" I asked concerned.

"I don't know, she throwing up and everything. I'ma go back and make sure she's good." He said.

"Maybe she's pregnant" I said.

My dad almost choked on his water and said "Pregnant?"

"Yeah maybe" I said shrugging.

"Well..." He said thinking.

"Damn I didn't pull out that time and we fasho ain't use a condom. You prolly right" He said and I made a face.

"Okay I didn't need to know that" I said and he laughed.

"My fault. Oh and I needa run something by you" He said.

"Hmm?" I said.

"Ta'Mya reached out to me yesterday." My dad said referring to my sister, I sighed.

"What she want?" I asked.

"Well, she's graduating college next week and she wants me to come.. Even though our relationship ain't no where near like me and your's. But I guess she willing to try." My dad said shrugging.

"You gone go? Ain't they in where... Ohio or something?" I asked.

"That's where TT lives, but Ta'Mya goes to school out here." He said.

"Oh. I wouldn't know" I said.

TT is my mom but her name is Gina. My parents were very young when they were together and had us. And they got married young. But they did a lot of dirt together, they were kinda like Bonnie and Clyde.

They never went by their government names in the hood, they just came up wit June and TT and stuck with that.

"She also wanted you to come. She wants her whole family to be there" My dad said.

"I'm not family" I said laughing.

"Yes you are y'all are sisters. Come on Day. Don't leave a nigga, I'm already gone feel awkward" He said sighing.

When Ta'Mya went with my mom, it was like them against me and my dad. My dad divorced my mom when I was 1 and Ta'Mya was 3 because my was cheating, so he figured she can do her but they just won't be together. My mom had a problem with that, because she's toxic and still wanted my dad, so she took my sister with her out of state to Ohio. So growing up, Ta'Mya had issues with my dad for quote unquote "leaving my mom".
