Chapter Thirteen: I Screwed Up.

She was grateful for the silence of the passage as she walked upwards, her legs burning from the many stairs. "Stupid stairs. They will always be my number one enemy."

Mailee soon found herself before the other two pathways. "What other interesting things would I find in them?" She soon lost interest after she marked them like the one at the garden. But the breeze stirred again, and it blew so hard towards the far right arch that Mailee took a step.

The hair on her neck rose as she watched the flame of her candle bend forward, pointing to the darkness that seemed blacker than all the rest. Whispers lay beneath the breeze, speaking to her in forgotten languages. She shuttered, and decided to go in the opposite direction-- to take the left archway, forgetting to go change. Following whispers on ancient forgotten language of Toria could only lead to trouble.

Despite the breeze, the passage was warm. With each  step down the winding stairs, the whispers faded away. Down, and down, and down, her breathing and shuffling steps the only sounds. There were no twisting passages once she reached the bottom, but rather one straight hall that seemed to lead on forever. She followed it, her feet already tired. After some time, she was surprised to see that the hallway changed dramatically.

Beyond the hallway she was in lies a scanty, timeworn room. It's covered in rubble, moss and bones. The torches on the wall allows Mailee to see remnants of statues, busted and consumed by time itself. "What is this place?"

Further ahead are on the opposite wall facing her was a massive metal door. Once she got close enough to touch it she was able to inspect it better. Various odd symbols are all over it, somehow untouched by time and the elements. You step closer to inspect the writing and... "Wait...What was that?" Mailee was sure she saw a shadow under the cracks of the door.

Mailee tried to put her ear to the door to see if she can hear anything, but once she placed her hand onto the door where the writing was, she immediately jumped back landing on her butt in surprise.

Mailee watched the writing immediately lit up and watched as the door suddenly opens slowly on its own. At that moment she knew she fucked up once she saw what was locked inside. "Well fuck...me."
