Soveliss gazed at the glass surface of the window for only a moment before yanking his gaze away to stare at his mate. They had returned to her bedroom chambers for she could get a fresh pair of clean clothes on and any weapons that she would need.

Mailee turned around to face him once she was ready. They stared at each other for a moment in silence before Soveliss crossed his arms on his chest.

"So...Do you have a plan?"

"Yes, I have a plan." She stated almost uncertain if her plan would work as she fished out another potion bottle from her bag.

"Is it a good one?" Soveliss raise an amused eyebrow at her in question as he looked down at her as she walked towards him.

"I have a plan..." No one spoke for a moment, but it didn't take long for his mate to see the small grin forming in the corner of his lips. "Shut up."

"I didn't say anything, my dear." The amused smirk was now full visible on his lips as he watched her when she stopped in front of him.

"Don't care and you didn't have to. So shut up and lets go find Soren." She stated as she poured the potion on him that turned him into a snake. He then made himself comfortable around her neck and chest. They then both left the chambers and into the waiting hallways. After awhile the two ended back at the clock tower.

"Which way should we go?" Soveliss hissed as he was looking out for Hattie.

"Well based on the direction of the wind, broken sticks in the corner, and the slight disturbance in the dirt, I'd guess He went that way." Mailee bends over to look on the ground looking for something.

"You can really figure out from all that?" He turned to face her in wonderment.

"No you idiot. The tracking spell is still working. See?" Mailee rolled her eyes as she stood back up as she pointed at the glowing tracking marks on the ground disappearing into the deep forest.

Mailee walked and walked, until she found herself by the tree-lined shore of a lake, glaringly bright in the midday sun. She saw the light shifting on the lake. She felt the shifting of the wind, warm as it brushed against her cheeks.

Mailee raised her head to stare across the glittering lake. They stood in silence, no sound but the quiet lapping of the lake on the mossy bank and the wind in the leaves.

"There seems to be a cave over there," Soveliss pointed out across the lake to their far left. Mailee turned to see what he was talking about. "He might be in there. It seems that the tracks are leading that way."

"It's worth a look see," Mailee ponder out loud as she stared to walk towards the cave. By the time she reached the cave's mouth that was nestled into the base of some huge craggy boulders, Mailee was slightly panting. It was a bit farther hike than she though going around the lake. Slightly uphill too.

For some reason, this cave made the hair on her neck stand up. And it had nothing to do with the wind. This was a bad sign. A horrible sign, actually, because whatever was in that care could lead to their deaths.

Looking down the glowing marks lead into the gaping maw of the cave mouth. "Of course they go in there," she mumbled. Pulling her cloak tighter around her, she slowly followed the markings into the cave.

Mailee walked into the dark letting her eyes adjust as she continued to listen for anything around her. The ground was rocky, the stones small and worn smooth. And littered with rusted weapons, armor, and--clothes. But no selections.

She then heard in the distance chains moving and Soren grunting as he tried to break them. She walked faster towards the sounds, but as she did so she missed the growing of spider webs on the ground and on the ceiling above her. "Soren sometimes you're not easy to find, you know that..." Mailee trailed off as she gets a really good look at her half brother. "Tell me I'm hallucinating." She had stopped at the edge of an enormous clear area.

Sitting in the center, the chains around his wrists and neck were anchored under the ground, and blindfolded, was Soren.
