They suffered through yet another long hours before they finally reached the end of her story, but she left Mira and Soveliss out of it. The said naga she had around her neck stayed there the entire time, he refused to move; Mailee guessed that she was stuck with him for a while longer around her neck.

They had sat themselves at one of the almost empty long tables in the back, Rinaru insisted that this would be a good place to talk so they took his word for it and sat there.

"So let me get this straight," Rinaru started as he rubbed his eyes," The maid is an ancient Iron Witch, the cook, and the keeper are taking our life-force by using a creature called Daalwal from the Punsad gates?" Mailee nodded as she played with the tip of Soveliss' tail with her right hand. "Damn, so this whole festival was a joke this whole time." He leaned back on his seat and looked up in exhaustion.

"Yes. From what you told me, we are the only ones left including my brother...In which I haven't seen him since yesterday." She pondered out loud. Mailee shook her head and frowned. "After this I may have to go find him unfortunately. It won't do me any good if he goes and gets himself killed here." Rinaru leaned closer across the table.

"I'm sure he is just fine out of all three of us with the way he kills. We should stay together at this point with everything we do: eat, sleep, search for a way out, and even bathe."

Iksehi chuckled, a low, amusement sound. He knew his friend was full of dreams, and silly, and so full of the glory of being young and alive and full of hope that he could hardly contain himself. "kěyǐ quèbǎo nín méiyǒu rènhé shì.(I can make sure nothing happened to you)," Rinaru purred. "kěyǐ chéngwéi bǎohù nín miǎn shòu rènhé shānghài de rén. (I can be the one to protect you from any harm that may come your way.)" He grasped Mailee's by her wrist, running a thumb along the sensitive skin underneath. "shuō yīdàn jiéshù jiù chēng wèi de ma? (What do you say that I call you mine once this is all over?)"

She gently removed her hand from his and gave some smoothing strokes on the growing irritating naga around her neck. The jealous naga was giving off small quiet hisses at the young man.

"Méiyǒu rén néng chāoyuè zhè yīdiǎn ér huó xiàqù. Suǒyǐ, huì chéngshí de, de péngyǒu Rinaru. bùxiǎng yào yīgè bànlǚ, rènhé rén dōu wúfǎ ràng bǎituō kěpà de mìngyùn. Yīdàn nín líkāi zhèlǐ, nín huì fāxiàn yīgè hěn bàng de nǚrén kěyǐ zài shìdàng de shíhòu zìjǐ diànhuà. (No man has passed this point and lived. So I will be honest with you, Rinaru, my friend. I do not want a mate nor can anyone safe me from my horrible fate. You will find a wonderful woman to call your own in due time once you leave here.)" She stood up and made her way towards the doors that lead to the hallways. "You two should stay together and do shifts during the nights to stay safe. If you see any one of those three...show no mercy and kill them."

She left them without looking back, and if she had looked back, she would have seen the disappointment look on Rinaru's face and a smug one on Iksehi's face as he looked at his friend. As Mailee walked Soveliss looked at her, licking his lips.

"Aimra'at sakhifat (Silly woman)..." he hissed quietly, "Yjb 'an taelam 'anak bihajat 'iilaa sahaq aldhukur alakharin qabl 'an yaelinuu "hbahuma" lika. (You should know that you need to crush other males before they announce their 'love' towards you.)" Silently, he slithered higher up, and lowered himself so that their faces were only a few inches apart. "'ant li ... mayly ...(You are mine... Mailee...)" he hissed in a sing-songy voice.

"Hmmm... mm?" Mailee's eyes blink out of her thoughts, and she find herself staring into his eyes a few inches from her. At first glance, she gasp in serpise, but suddenly... her body relaxed. "Ealaa mahmal aljidi , laqad 'akhbaratk balfel 'anani la 'abhath ean rafiq fi 'ayi waqt qrybana 'aw fi 'ayi waqtin. Yumkinuk alaidiea' bi'anani malakuk klu ma turiduh wala yazal la yughayir hqyqtan 'anana lm nantahi min hafl altazawuj.(Seriously, I've already told you that I'm not looking for a mate anytime soon or ever. You can claim that I'm yours all you want that still doesn't change the fact that we haven't finished the mating ceremony.)" She took out her chalk and draw a few symbols and then some of her Beth's blood from the vile onto the symbols as the tracking spell called for. "Let's just find Soren."

They soon came upon the small courtyard, and stopped at the ebony clock tower. It grew darker and darker, as if it somehow absorbed the sun's dying rays. I'm top of it, the gargoyles remained stationary. They haven't moved. Not even a finger.

"What's your obsession with knowing so many languages?" Soveliss asked from her shoulder. Mailee eyed the shocked naga.

"As a child I was always wanting to learn as many as I could so that I can one day benefit my kingdom and my people with new allies."

"However, your father used it for his gain instead once he found out," the naga stated blankly, he could feel the annoyance drop off her. "How many did you learn before your father started to use you?" They was a short pause of silence as she silently counted the different languages she learned in her head.

"13, some better than others, but I know enough to know what others are talking about. You see I was left along most of the time until I was about...15 or 1,500 years old before he found out. However, that was my fault that he found out about it. I lashed out at someone using their own language and then others." She admitted sadly as she looked down.

A Punsad mark was at her feet, and she glanced to the others. There were twelve of them all together, forming a large circle around the solitary tower. She hadn't the faintest idea what any of these meant. None of that marks here matches the bones she'd saw Hattie done, but there had to be some connection. "Soveliss, do you know what these read?"

"No," Soveliss said as he tensed up, and curls his scaly tail around her waist. "And you shouldn't try to discover what they say," he added over her shoulder. "Nothing good will come of it. Just like that Daalwal that you found." Mailee pulled her cloak tighter around them as she followed the tracker spell on the ground. "Do not worry, I am here by your side." He said, his voice dropping into a hush, as he nuzzled his nose up against her mating bite marks. Mailee paused for a moment before speaking,

"'Ashkurukum ealaa alduem. (Thank you for the support.)" Soveliss nodded, staring at the tracker in front of them. Mailee chewed on her bottom lip, and Soveliss noted that her fingers curled and unfurled at the sides of her long, purple gown. A cold breeze blew last them, making Mailee's hair sway. The glass gems woven into her hair clicked softly.

"I'm sorry," Soveliss began, "I shouldn't have brought your father up, my--" A step fell behind them, before Mailee could whirl around, a male voice said:

"Look at this."
