By the time he got to the passage in the secret garden, it was already late evening and he stopped once he entered the open archway. He leaned back onto the stone bricks just as she was tilting her head up in her sleep exposing her neck to him. He blinked, slit pupils constricting.

He started to lean down and inhaled her scent from her throat and the intoxicating scent of hers wanting him to bite her...no claim her right then and there. Her pheromones were driving him mad. He inhaled again, feeling dizzy from how close she was to him, and he leaned further in her neck with a contented sigh.

Before he could even think about it, he flicked his, forked tongue out and it slid against her mating marks. He heard her moan slightly in her unconscious state by his touch.

He stopped immediately, remembering his promise to her that she will have to accept before the mating is complete. He pulled back and shook his head, scolding himself for almost giving into the mating call. Taking a few breaths to calm himself, he slowly leaned back up, and then continued his way to Mira with Mailee in his strong arms.

Even when that sweet scent she gave off was making his instincts difficult to ignore, but he remembered to keep himself in check. "If she's got anything like the reputation of a female of my kind, then I don't want to have fangs sink into me in fight," he thought. "Then again... that would be hot." His smirk became a proud grin. "And her calling out my name..." He immediately stopped his thoughts as he reached Mira's chambers. "Mira, we are here. Wake up."

Mira awoke from her small slumber and noticed that Soveliss seemed to be a bit more on edge, she simply sat still and waited, keen eyes watching him being the woman to her island. His tail splashed through the waters of the small pond. It was clear that he was more agile in the water than on land with his coils.

The shore was nearby and he dragged himself up onto the ground, feeling better from the freezing water as it had cooled him off. "I believe it's time." Soveliss commented calmly, motioning his hand to Mailee after he laid her down at Mira's feet. Mira nodded, slowly absorbing the two before her. Mira's heart sank to the bottom of her pound upon seeing Mailee's state.

"So small and so fragile. She must accept the role first. And then and only then can I give her the core of the last Guardian. But in her current state I'm afraid she may...not join with it. It's asking a lot of her." Looking up Mira saw that Soveliss' expression had hardened.

"She's strong. She will join with it and I have no doubt about that. She will not loose to it." He hissed. His defense made Mira's heart sink even further, if possible.

"She must rest first then," was all Mira stated as she motioned with her hand to a bed of flowers. Not just a bed of flowers but flame lilies and a soft bed of grass.

By the invitation, his long tail wrapped around Mailee's body and he slid towards the bed not to far away. He placed her in the middle of the bed and then lay down next to her. He had turned to face her and was moving his tail and upper coils into position. The coils were starting to layer themselves, one on top of the other, closing in around her.

When the tail wrapped around her and touched the bare skin on her arms and neck, she relaxed against the warmth, almost heat, and the scales themselves were very smooth. Overlapping together, they made a perfect blanket that kept out the cold. Then he laid down on the solid earth, simply flat on his back, but he didn't mind in the slightest.

Drawing her closer, he wrapped his arms around her shoulders, and cradled the back of her head. He kissed her forehead and smiled against her skin. He tucked his face against her shoulder and sighed content, hugging her to him.

Mira have a small motherly smile towards the two as she leans back in her tree for another rest. She will need all the energy she would need for bringing forth the great core. She hoped not for everyone sake that the young girl survived the joining but for his sake as well. Mire can honestly say she is tired seeing Soveliss's heart ach and broken soul without a mate for so long. She closed her eyes and listened to everything around her before darkness consumed her.
