The next four words that came out of Mailee's mouth were so vulgar that Soren choked. But the two didn't move as the creature finally showed itself with the torch lights.

Black, long wavy hair awkwardly hangs over a thin, menacing face. Six big, round red eyes, set deep within their sockets, watching the two intensely. The creature stood tall with confidence, despite her sturdy frame. However, it was her waist down that made Mailee curse. She had half of a spider's body. Which means she was a Chokih.

"Oh you're still alive and it seems another has come to save you." The Chokih spoke as she came closer. A feral smile crossed her face as her eyes gleamed with near-predatory intent.

"Don't sound so disappointed, I might think you didn't like me," Soren retorted back. Both women frowned at him.

"Can you please go be stupid somewhere that's away from me?" Mailee breathed out in frustration at his actions. "Also don't anger the Chokih while I'm in arms reach of your dumb ass."

"Literally everything about you boy is annoying," the Chokih hissed back and then composed herself once again. "What are you doing here in my cave?"

"La tukadhid ealayha. Qul alhaqiqat li'anaha sataerif ma 'iidha kunt tukadhib. (Do not lie to her. Speak the truth for she will know if you lie.)" Soveliss hissed in Ilwa beside Mailee's left ear in warning.

"I followed his trail here where he was placed into this cave. We did not mean to intrude on your home." Mailee took over the answering before Soren can say anything else that could get them all killed by the Chokih.

"And yet here you two are in my home without permission or an invite."

"Oh I love being a third wheel. It's so fun. This isn't sarcasm. No, definitely not." Soren rolled his eyes as he moved out of Mailee's hold to support his own weight.

"Shut up, Soren," Mailee hissed at him.

"Boy, you should learn to think before you speak," the Chokih hissed displeased, "the last person who didn't lost more than their tongue." The Chokih's eyes were hard and narrowed. "Devushka, ty govorish' na moyem rodnom yazyke? (Girl, do you speak my native tongue?)"

"Da. (Yes.)" Mailee nodded as Soren gave a confused look at the Wulorki language spoken. "No on etogo ne ponimayet i ne ponimayet. (But he does not nor does he understand it.)"

"YA skazhu tebe chto, (I'll tell you what)" the Chokih smiled. "Otvet'te mne chestno, I ya pozvolyu vashey gruppe uyti v odnochas'ye. (Answer me truthfully and I shall allow your group to leave in one peice.)" The Chokih's smile broadened at Mailee's reply of an nod of the head.

"Zadayte svoi voproyosy. (State your questions.)"

"Kem ty rabotayesh'? Pochemu vy prishli v eto tsarstvo? Kakova tvoya rol' zdes'? (What are you? Why did you come to this realm? What is your role here?)" The Chokih dipped onto her front legs to make eye contact with Mailee making her more threatening figure of herself. Remembering Soveliss' warning about lying to the Chokih, Mailee spoke without hesitation.

"YA Feniks. My byli vybrany, chtoby priyekhat' v eto tsarstvo na Festival' Sveta, no eto byla lozh'. Pridya syuda; YA kakim-to obrazom stal novym Khranitelem. (I am a Phoenix. We were selected to come to this realm for the Festival of Light, but that was a lie told to us. By coming here; I somehow became the new Guardian.)" Mailee watched the Chokih's eyes filled with so many emotions at once. Then the emotions were gone but a small amused smirk graced the Chokih's face.

"You are my favorite now. Most would try to lie their way out of telling me the truth," She gave Soren a lazy glace indicating that he had already tried to do just that. The Chokih glanced back at Mailee in thought. "I will keep the oath from the last Guardian. However, do me a favor when you leave today, kill that Iron Bitch Witch. It's really inconvenient to see her face everytime I go out."

"I was already planning on killing that bitch," Mailee nodded in agreement. "However, I appreciate that you will keep the oath." The Chokih dipped her head out of respect to Mailee's words. As the Chokih moved out of their way and further into the chamber she gave them a drained hand wave of dismissal. Before Mailee stepped into the dark tunnel she turned one more time to the Chokih. "What is your name?"

"Elira," came the gentle reply of the Chokih. "Yours?"

"Mailee," she replied back as she bowed to the Chokih and walked after Soren towards the cave's mouth.
