Chapter Thirty-Three: Accepting One's Fate

It has been so long since she had last felt this sort of thrill. And it was the first time while Mailee decided that she had enough of Ashia and her father.

She watched as Mira raised her hand towards the dark heavens above them summoning the core to her. All the flame lilies started to glow giving off white powerful energy; all that energy gathering into an orb in her hand the size of a tiny child's play ball.

"First you will need to keep your body cooled during this and Soveliss can help support you above the waters," Mira started as she pointed to the freezing waters before them. "Second Soveliss will push the core into your own. Once that happens, you must fight to join with it and fight to stay with in the light." Mailee nodded as she watched Mira hand the pure white core to Soveliss carefully as if it was her baby.

Soveliss came over to her and wrapped his other arm around Mailee's waist. She watched as he carried her over to the waters, not speaking a word, but he didn't have to when she could feel the uneasiness roll off him.

Once they got there he slowly sat her down on the edge of the water with her feet inside the water. He slithered his bottom half into the water leaving his human part outside.

"You sure? You may not make it out of the darkness. I can't loose my mate just after finding you." He asked moving closer between her legs, his arms By each side of her thighs and his face right in front of hers as he slowly took her sweet scent in. Mailee looked down at the water not fully knowing what to say to him.

"Yes... I'm sure that I won't fall into it completely." She hesitated for a second, that made Soveliss carefully tilt his head in question. "Soveliss..." She knew she couldn't resist any longer so before she decided to back out of it; she grabbed his face and kissed him with urgency of mates in a final farewell embrace. And just like that, the man she was kissing just now became the most dangerous person in the world.

He jolted back at her sudden action but soon regained his composure. He gave her a small loving smile. He lifted his hand and pushed back the hair that was sticking to her face, carefully with his sharp claws.

"I will take that as your acceptance." He picked her up holding her close to his chest. Mailee arms wrapped around his neck as he lowered down his body so only their heads stuck out of the water. She kept her eyes on the water around them as she could feel his gaze on her. "I will secure you so that you will not hurt yourself. Relax, Mailee." she gave home a nod and tried to relax against him in the water.

She felt him move his tail around in the waters and moved the coils around them both. She felt the end of his tail made its way around her legs and waist. He moved her back against his chest and her face into the cork of his neck. He had securely wrapped his free hand around her arms and once he placed the power core in her chest his other arm will join it.

The hand with the power core moved to be placed between her breast. Before he pushed the core in he dipped her head into the cold water to keep her cool. He felt her nod in his neck giving him that she was ready.

Mailee's body froze when that tight feeling appeared when he pushed the one into her chest and with a grunt from her it slid right into her body. His hand when finished had covered one of her breast and unconsciously squeezing it as he moved around slightly for a place to lay not totally under the waters.

Then it began and he held on tight enough not to hurt his mate.
