"I'm getting out of here."
Prince Minsitthar stared at the young lady with a bored look on his face. Needless to say, he was not surprised. The noble lady has been trying all she could to leave the palace. Commendable but close to impossible.
"How do you propose to do that?" Minsitthar rose his brow. Guinevere's small smirk stayed intact. Clearly, she's planning something.
"My birthday comes in a month. August 26th."
"So?"
Guinevere looked dumbstruck. "You seriously can't put these ideas together?"
Minsitthar merely stayed quiet and shifted his focus to the newpaper. He was steadily monitoring the state of the nation through the countless published news. It does seem as if things are calm at the moment.
The noble lady placed a fist on the prince's office table, the force jolting him to face the confident girl once again. There was a fire in her eyes, one that he couldn't explain. It was as if Agni Kee Nadee became part of her blood.
"Even if you wont listen, I'll tell you anyway." Guinevere paced in front of him haughtily, not caring about his disinterest. "I'm no prophet, but this I tell you. Our wedding will happen on my 18th birthday, the same day as my coronation. Do what you will with that information. Now, I will take my leave."
Her heels clicked audibly against the marble floors as she turned to leave. Once the young lady has fully exited, he set down his newspaper and began speculating.
"When will she plan to escape?"
—————————
With a disappointed demeanor, Guinevere walked out of the Prince's office. It was as if the Prince has totally blocked her out. He couldn't blame him. She probably looked totally insane in front of him.
She silently counted the days to her 18th birthday together with the clinking of her steps. Insanely deep in her thoughts, Guinevere crashed against someone. Turns out, it was a palace staff.
Guinevere rubbed her head sheepishly. "I'm so sorry, sir. I wasn't looking."
The silver-haired maintenance staff smiled kindly with his hand on his chest and went back to his task. "It's okay, Lady Guinevere. My apologies as well. I'm Lee."
"Hello Lee! I guess there's no point of introducing myself."
"Hehe, indeed. I'm sorry for being so clumsy, my lady. I'm a newly hired servant."
"Oh you! Please stop apologizing! Do you need a hand?"
Lee gasped loudly. "No my lady! This laborous work is only for servants like me. You can't dirty your hands, my lady."
Smiling lightly, she rolled her eyes at the new servant. Guinevere admired how someone could look so androgynous. In some angles, he's feminine, but his body shape says otherwise. "Shush it! I'm bored and I don't have friends in this cold and lonely castle. AND DONT CALL YOURSELF A SERVANT. It's unnerving."
Lee bowed deeply and offered a kind smile. "If you insist, my lady. I can be your friend."
For the first time in a long while, Guinevere broke into a genuine smile. "Really?"
Lee nodded graciously.
"No hidden agendas? Truly become my friend?"
With those words, it's as if Guinevere struck a chord within the silver-haired servant, but his years of being an assassin didn't betray him. He kept up charming genuine smile, without faltering, he reassured the young Baroque who stared up to him with expectant green eyes.
