Chapter Forty-One

Granger woke up with a newfound vigor.

It seemed crazy to think that a simple message from a stranger brought him back to to life again. All his hopes rose back again to see the light of day. Who knows? Today might be his lucky day. After all, Linguine has always been his lucky charm.

"Ew. That was mushy." He grimaced at the thought. Lord of Light, he has totally gone bonkers.

Anyway, he resumed to his routine. Woke up, got himself ready and stream with the team. At the same time, they'd practice new rotations, hero combinations and picks. It was another day of working, though it never really felt like work.

The stars from fans and viewers came pouring in each time. Of course, they would show they personality in streams. After all, it is entertainment. Time and time again, Alucard gets the most stars in his streams because of his boisterous yet pervy humor.

"Good game guys!" Alucard bumped fists with his team. Granger enthusiastically bumped along.

"Even if Claude totally did us dirty with that flicker Fanny." Granger rolled his crimson eyes at the brunette.

"Calm down, sass king." Claude bursted in mirthful laughter with Dexter chirping teasingly to the group.

"Please never let me tank again." Gusion huffed and wiped the beads of sweat in his brow.

"Those sets are epic fails, man. Good thing those enemies are....kinda stupid." Chou said.

"Was that supposed to comfort me with my tank skills?"

"Take it however you like."

Gusion waved goodbye to his stream and flashed his signature smile that made the girls swoon. He forgot to mention that Gusion receives the most stars after Alucard, mostly from the female demographic. Lesley has been pretty chill about the desperate fangirls. She knew she was on another level.

"Bye Babes! See you guys tomorrow." Gusion winked at the camera and turned it off.

"Huh? Gone so soon?" Alucard asked.

Gusion smirked as he skipped enthusiastically to the exit door to meet a certain pinkette of his dreams. "Sorry, Alu. Babe time."

Alucard sneered. "Tch."

"Why so bitter, harem king? Thought things are going good between you and Miya?" Claude asked the blonde manager, who only swirled away from the camera.

"She's a tough one, I'll tell 'ya that." Alucard only smiled sheepishly, embarrassed that his charms wouldn't work on the said lady.

"Maybe you need to be more hands-on?" Chou suggested. "She does take care of two cat-like kids. Imagine the stress."

"She probably has no time for romance." Granger decided to point out the obvious to the baffled Alucard.

"Yeah, man. You gotta show her that you won't distract her from her responsibilities. Show her that she needs you!" Chou added.

"No way!" Claude laughed loudly. "Alucard as a dad? Damn, you need some maturing to do."

"I'm mature, you dolt!" Alucard defended himself and socked the boy in the head. His little simian companion defensively chirped in protest. "Yeah yeah Dexter. Tell your partner to shut the fuck up."

"Aw, that hurt my feelings!"

"Guys." Granger stood up from his seat after quietly ending his stream for the day. "I'll be out for a sec."

The careless laughter died down around him as they all looked at the scarred boy worriedly. None of them uttered a word for a while until Alucard sighed. "You've been out a lot, Granger. We're getting really worried."
