CHAPTER 9 | SHIP

I can't almost breathe when the girl spits those words to my friend. It hurts me seeing like that again.

Why would these students become mad at her? Did she do something wrong again?

All of us was surprised when Mrs. Navarro, Nathalie's mother appeared. The girl who just made a scandal stepped backward while the guards are still holding them.

I also noticed Race's presence behind me but I don't have time to look at him.

Bago pa man makalapit si Mrs. Navarro ay natulungan na kaagad ni Clark na maitayo si Nat. Pansin ko sa mga mata ni Nat ang takot ngunit walang pagsisisi. Ano na naman ba kasi ang ginawa niya? Nagkakalat na naman ba siya ng mga chismis?

"What happened here?" our academic vice president talked that made us all trembled. She's so intimidating.

"Bigla po nilang inatake at sinabunot ang anak niyo, Ma'am Navarro" isang guro ang sumagot na halatang nakita ang buong pangyayari.

Mrs. Navarro's forehead creased but she didn't look surprised at all. She diverted her attention to those girls who just attacked Nathalie. Their expressions are so evident to tell that they're nervous because of Nathalie's mom.

I suddenly saw Mitch in the corner while controlling herself to calm down after those girls who attacked our friend.

"Ihatid niyo sila sa Prefect of Discipline," utos ni Mrs. Navarro sa mga guwardiya na tinanguan naman nila sabay hila sa mga babae palabas ng auditorium.

"Isama niyo si Nathalie," Mrs. Navarro added that made my mouth parted.

All of us was shocked because of what the old lady said. She didn't even look at her daughter with concern.

Narinig namin lahat ang hikbi ni Nathalie. Gusto ko sanang lumapit kaso pinigilan ako ni Race. I sighed heavily because of disbelief.

Nathalie always keeps her problems within herself. She doesn't have the courage to open up or let go of something that is bothering her. And her mom hates her.

Hindi pa namin kailanman nakitang proud ang nanay ni Nathalie sa kanya. We didn't even saw Mrs. Navarro acknowledging Nathalie as her daughter in public.

Inalalayan ni Clark si Nat palabas. Hindi ko tuloy mapigilan ang nararamdaman. Nanghihina ako at nasasaktan. Alam kong mali ang ginagawa ni Nathalie pero mas nagagalit ako sa nanay niya.

Is it hard to give us the attention that we want from our parents? It hurts to think that parents can really break our heart.

Mrs. Navarro left the scene without any expression. All of us became calm after she disappeared from our eyes.

Nagpatuloy ang rehearsal ngunit hindi pa rin maalis saaking isipan ang posibleng nararamdaman ni Nathalie ngayon.
