CHAPTER 20 | SNAKE

I thought I was a fool for loving someone who can't love me back. But you can't really know the truth if you don't ask and let them prove it to you.

I am weak when it comes to Race and what happened last Monday is so unforgettable. I'm his and he's mine.

As I was looking at my best friend's pissed face, a part of me was happy.

"He's really avoiding me! Why is he so cold?!" Mitch said out of irritation.  

Today is Wednesday, third day of the Intramurals. Race don't have a game today so he told me that he can't come. But the most exciting part is, he asked me to let him pick me up later because we're going to a date!

I will just create an alibi for my bestfriend to believe in me. Race chose me so I won't let my bestfriend to take him away from me.

It's not the right time to tell Mitch the truth but she'll know soon.

"He's not replying to you anymore?" I asked Mitch as she irately nodded.

I guess, I won.

Quarter to 12 noon when I asked permission to Mitch that I need to go somewhere important. She was confused but in the end, she let me go. Good thing that Clark is also with her.

I can't help but to think about Clark. He's my best friend and he was there when I'm not fine. But now? I chose Race even if he was the reason of my pain.

"Where are we going?" I immediately asked him after he started driving.

"Secret," pabiro niyang sagot. Tumango nalang ako sa kanya at itinuon ang atensyon sa daan.

I really appreciate the beauty of our city. I love going out during nighttime but when it's daytime the surroundings are much more beautiful.

The sky is fine and there's no any sign that it will rain. There are also many transportations so the road is on traffic.

Cagayan de Oro City is known to be the City of Golden Friendship. I was born and raised in this city. This place taught me to be strong and weak at the same time. At kahit mapadpad man ako sa ibang lugar ay pipiliin kong pa ring bumalik dito.

"We're actually going to my favorite place," Race suddenly said when we were on our way to Divisoria.

"Where?" I surprisingly asked.

"Eden's Solace," he replied that made me to be more excited.
