Rachel Parker POV

I walked into the center of the Helicarrier and bumped into a woman with black hair wearing a headset.

She spilled coffee all over me! "Well that hurt." I said. You'd think with my Spidey sense that I would've been able to prevent that...

"I am so sorry!" She said quickly. "Can someone get some towels?" She called. A few guys scrambled toward what I realized were the bathrooms.

"It's okay, really. I know you didn't do it on purpose. Where's Director Fury?" I asked. "He's in his office over there." She pointed to a shut door at the top right of the big windows of the Helicarrier.

"Thanks!" I said, turning to leave. "Wait, let me help you." She said quickly. The men returned and practically threw a pile of towels at us. I cleaned the coffee the best I could and walked toward his office.

I knocked on the door and walked inside. Nick Fury was looking at something on his TV. He turned around and looked at me. A smirk on his face as he looked at my shirt.

"What's going on? Where are they now?"I asked, worried. "We're currently tracking their location but we think they're on a plane designed by Doc Oc." He said.

"Why don't we get SilverMist to help us? Or the Fantastic Four? Someone?" I asked. He glared at me or blinked, I couldn't tell.

"We don't want to send out a massive distress call yet. We need to track them down first to a tee. Anything else you want to address? Something seems to be on your mind." He asked. I sighed.

"Yes. Samantha or SilverMist as she is now called, would like a suit or at least to be set free. But she's nervous that she can't control her power. Magneto had put a mind lock on her but now it's lifted." I said.

He narrowed his eye at me. "I will see what I can do. In the meantime, go see your father. He's dying to see you." He dismissed me. "Thank you, sir." I said, turning around.

I left the office and continued to the tiny hospital ward. I located my father's room and walked inside. He was sitting up in bed and smiled when I walked in.

"How are you?" He asked, looking me up and down. "I'm fine. Tis only a flesh wound!" I laughed. He smiled at me. "Good to hear." I sat down next to him.

"Had a bit of an accident, I see!" He laughed. I looked down at my now coffee stained shirt. "Yeah, his assistant gave me some for later." I joked.

"Any words on the villains yet?" "Nick Fury is a hard shell to crack! Geez talk about Pentagon level!" I laughed. "Yeah, Nick's a bit odd." He laughed.

"Does that guy ever take a break? Get a latte.. A girlfriend..?" I joked. "I don't think so, unless it can fit in that tiny office. Oh! How's that girl doing?"

"I think okay. I've spent the last week with her. She's lonely and has a sense of humor like us. Gwen about wrung her neck, though." I sighed.

"What? Why? And how could she? She's not that." Someone cleared their throat. "That what? Not that what, Pete?" My mother laughed. "Someone's in the doghouse." I taunted.

"Rachel! Not funny." Gwen tried to say with a straight face but ended up laughing. I shrugged.

"She's the adopted daughter of Curt Conners." I said, waiting for my dad to flip. "Oh. Okay. I thought she tried to murder you or something." He said calmly.

"No big reaction?" I couldn't help but ask. "It was more the lizard anything did it than him. Not saying that's an excuse or defending him, but he was and is, my friend. I tend to stay silent on this subject." He shrugged.
