Rachel Parker (SpiderGirl) POV

I opened my eyes and sat up. I was being kept in the medical ward for observation.

The room was dark and I sighed, tired of being locked on this stupid ship! "It's not stupid, you do know. It's actually pretty cool." I heard someone say out loud.

The lights flicked on and I saw Samantha sitting on a chair, to the side of my tiny bed. "Not when you're being held in it." I snapped back.

"Don't make me put you to sleep." She threatened. I just sighed, "you're right, I'm sorry." I said, she just shrugged.

"How's she.. Oh! You're awake." Jean walked through the door, her firey hair floating around her. "Yep. And bored. And annoyed. Anything else we care to list?" I snapped.

They looked at each other and didn't say anything else. Jean turned on a little screen at the top right of the room that I didn't noticed before. It was a hologram screen, it floated and was green.

"Someone has spotted the infamous Venom and Mystique! They saw these strange villians in Central Park. Everyone is asking where is Spider-Girl?" A woman reported. She looked like a supermodel that somehow found her way to a microphone. And spray tan.

I just sighed. "Great way to cheer me up." They didn't say anything for a few minutes, I heard chairs clattering as both of them walked out of the room.

Rolling my eyes, I reached over and turned off the tv using the tiny grey remote. I sat with my back against the pillows and sighed deeper. I was just thinking on how Kimberly would react to my sighs. She would probably come up with some stupid joke to make me laugh.

"SpiderGirl is here. Stuck. In a hospital bed of all things." I griped at the now blank screened TV. "Glad to see you still have your sense of humor, SpiderGirl." Nick Fury walked into the room and looked around.

"Thanks I guess." I snapped, looking away from him. "I don't want your pity if that's what you're going to give me." I growled, surprising Nick and myself.

"No, but I'm going to see if I can have the doctors release you." He told me. I turned around immediately. "Please!" I begged; he smirked at me and walked out. "Ugh. Finally." I said, swinging my feet over the side of my bed.

I walked to the bathroom and looked in the mirror, all I saw was a sad and bored looking version of myself. Walking back to my bed, I jumped on it and put my feet under the covers.

I opened my eyes, the door was opening with a loud creeeek. I must've fallen asleep! Great, a superhero who falls asleep on the job. Maybe I should be named SleeperGirl. Nick Fury walked in with a doctor following him.

"Hello, I'm Dr. Osrick." He said, holding out his hand. He wore a labcoat and had salt and pepper hair. "Rachel Parker." I shook his hand and sat cross legged.

He did a few tests and left for a bit. When he finally returned, he was smiling. Well, if that's not a good sign, I don't know what is. "You're good to go. Just be careful." He winked a silver eye at me.

I nodded and proceeded to get dressed into my costume. "You're not going anywhere in that suit." Nick told me. "Okay, fine. Can I at least walk around downtown?" I asked. Nick hesitated before nodding his head, "I don't see why not. Do not go as SpiderGirl. I will have agents watching your every move." His tone turned threatening.

"Fine." I surrendered. I spied some clothes on the far chair and smiled. They were a bit more country than I was used to, so I knew Samantha picked them out. I slipped on the western turquoise shirt and jeans, with the white jacket that had a bit of fringe on it. I decided on my black motorcycle boots and walked out the door.

I carefully stepped on the elevator and it brought me up to the top deck. I had been in bed for like 5 days, so I was still getting used to the sunshine. I took a few minutes for my eyes to adjust before walking to the diving platform. I grabbed a parachute and strapped it on before jumping off.

I did a few flips in the air as I laughed, I had always loved the feeling of flying, and falling, all at once. I pulled the string and felt the tug as the parachute gently pulled me backwards before letting me fall more slowly. I landed on top of a skyscraper, not far from Central Park. "Can't use my powers to get down..."

I spied a door and strolled over to it, throwing my parachute to the side of it, knowing that SHIELD would pick it up later. I climbed down the staircase, glad that there wasn't anyone on it; I finally reached street level and opened the last door. I walked onto the street and looked around, not used to walking for once.

I felt pretty hungry, and was tired of hospital food. I spied a Chinese restaurant and carefully crossed the street to get to it. Opening the door, I walked in, it was pretty packed! Well, it is 12:30..... I quickly ordered my orange chicken and friend rice before deciding on a booth for two in the corner, facing the window.

I placed my number on the metal thing and waited.
