-Evan's POV-
Beep!
Beep!
Beep!

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock blaring in my ear. I turn it off and get ready for school. It's been quiet since Jeremy, my stepbrother, went to collage with his boyfriend Michael. And lonley. He usually could break the awkwardness between his dad and I. I don't know what that man's problem with pants were.

After I got ready I went downstairs, passing my mom. "Evan?" Damn I was almost out the door. "Y-yeah mom?" "Dr. Sherman says he might have found a new method for you! It's writing letters to yourself on why everyday is going to be a good day. He said he'd start next week." (A/n I don't know Dr. Sherman's gender ;-;) Awesome. Wow. "Oh good.." I said through my teeth sarcastically. She didn't catch it and smiled.

"Do you want Jared to take you to school?" She asked opening her laptop.

If I was being honest, yes. I did. He was an annoying little shit but I liked him...more than I straight guy should have, and does. But I didn't want to bother him, I knew he found me annoying.

Say yes! Say yes- "No it's ok I can walk!" Goddammit Hansen!! "Oh okay, have a good first day as a Sophomore!" "Ok you too." And with that left. And it took me a few seconds to realize I said 'you too'...shit.

~Small Time Skip To School~

I went into the building. It was fairly big, correction it was one of the biggest schools in our state. The hallway was full of loud talking, lots of people walking and lockers slamming. A few kids stopped talking when I came in and glanced at me, then went back to talking.

Ok so those people are judging me. Great. I went to my locker, opening it and shoving my bag in. My cast banged on the locker and I squeaked a wince.

"Is it weird to be the first person in history to break their arm from jacking off too much or do you consider that an honor?" A familiar voice asked from behind me.

I spun around and there he was the 5'7 glory, one of the most popular kids in the school, almost more respected than The Plastics and The Heathers, Jared Kleinman. "Shut up! Also that didn't happen!" I whispered through my teeth.

"Paint me a picture, you're in your bedroom, you have Zoe Mu-" he said a smirk appearing on his face while he giggled stupidly. "she's just my friend!" "I've heard that before." So have I.

"Alright so how did you then?" "How did I what?" Break your arm idiot." Shit, I didn't have time to think of a story. "Uh, I uh...fell...out of a tree..." Wow smooth Mark. "You fell? Ha! What are you? An acorn?" He laughed. "I guess..." "Well, I'm going."

He was about to leave when I saw my opportunity. "W-wait! Do you..." he turned to me and all my confidence from before melted. "Wanna sign my cast..?" I asked holding out the sharpie my mom gave me. God I hate my stupid stutter. He chuckled. "Why the hell would I do that?" "B-because you're my friend?" "We are family friends Hansen. There's a difference." He said, he sounded annoyed. I felt my face go red in embarrassment.

"Oh..." I squeaked out as I put the sharpie back in my pocket and swallowed.

Jared left and I just stood there like an idiot. I jumped went the locker next to me slammed. It was none other than Alana Beck. "Oh hi!"

"H-Hi Alana...how was your summer-" "Mine was good I did a lot of social work and read and-" she rambled on about something, I sighed and looked down at my phone, I was cut off by a very sudden and sharp gasp, making me tense up. "Oh my gosh! Your arm!" She gasped, looking at my cast in shock. "O-oh yeah, I fell out of a tree, want to si-" I was about to pull out the sharpie but she cut me off again.

"Yeah my grandma broke her hip trying to get out of the bathtub and she died." Alana said, much...calmer than she should have. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry...." she shrugged. "It's fine," she still seemed calm about the whole thing, I didn't know if that concerned me or scared me. There was a few seconds of silence before i spoke up.

"Do you want to sign my cast-" "Oh my gosh I have to go to class! I'm so sorry, Eric?" "Evan." "Evan, I'm so sorry I have to go." And like that she dashed away. The thing was is it was 10 minutes before class even started.

Eh there's nothing wrong with wanting to be early, and if you know Alana in person she just gives off that vibe the second you meet her. I thought about going to my class just so I wouldn't get locked out and have people stare at me. I went down the hall and turned a corner when I slammed into someone.

I stagger back and look up to see that it's none other than Connor Murphy. Shit. "O-oh my gosh I am so sorry!" I said, nervously laughing at the end, which was a mistake and something that I should not have done. "If you're so sorry then why the hell are you laughing at me?" "I- w-wuh-what?" "Do you think I'm just some freak?! Is that it?!" "N-no! Of course not!-"

"I'm not the freak you're the fucking freak!!" And he shoved me into the lockers. (A/n a homeless man walked up to me and he pushed me-) I banged the back of my head against them and slid down. He stormed off. A few other kids in the hallway glanced in my direction with worried looks.

Two boys came up to me, with shoulder length black hair and another with curly brown hair and freckles. The black haired boy knelt down next to me.

"Woah hey, are you ok?" He asked softly. I got up and they did too. "Y-yeah I'm fine. I'm Evan, b-by the way." I said, nervousness completely stabbing into my words. They both smiled. "Alexander Hamilton, I'm at your service! And this is my boyfriend," "I'm John Laurens, I like turtles."

They said they would walk me to class just to make sure I got there okay. I got comfortable almost instantly. Alexander and John are just really nice people, and we actually have some stuff in common.
We parted ways and I went to class, thank god I wasn't late. It was just the normal, 'introduce yourselves, because adults just assume all kids will get along,' and 'my name is Evan not Mark.'

The day went by pretty quickly, before I knew it, it was the end of the day. Finally. When I walked out I stepped on Heather McNamara's hand, I didn't even see her. "Ohmygoshimsososorry!" I rambled and stepped off her hand as quick as I could. She rubbed her hand and looked up at me. "It's okay, happens a lot, you're Evan right?" She asked. She remembers my name but Alana didn't?

"O-oh yeah..." "Sit down next to me," she said smiling and patting the space next to her. I hesitantly did. She smiled. "So I heard about that incident with the druggie." Heather said, getting out a mirror and putting on lip gloss.

She wasn't in her normal proper yellow jumper, she was in a hoodie and a skirt, making her look, almost human. "Y-yeah." "Are you ok?" "I'm fine...why are you being so nice to me? Do you want me to do your homework or something?" She laughed. "I have my girlfriend to do that." I looked at her confused. "I'm kidding! I'm the one that helps her," she said closing the mirror.

I smiled, she did too. "She helped me open my eyes. That being a bitch didn't make people like me it just made them fear me. I think her ex killed someone." "Oh..." "But you don't have to be afraid of me, I've changed. I think it's crazy how people can be someone you are afraid of, and then someone you can have a conversation with the next, don't you think?" She said with a smile. "Yeah...it is..."
