-Connor's POV-

I took a deep breath and stepped out of the car. Evan was waiting by the doors and was bouncing up and down excitedly. Evan dragged me inside and I stumbled to stay on my feet.

The doors were thrown open and he went to the front desk. The woman looked up at us and smiled. "Mark Hansen? And Connor Murphy is that correct?" She asked and Evan nodded.

He shoved a pile of papers into my hands. "Sign 'em. I signed mine yesterday." He said and another woman came around the hallway corner. "Right this way, Mr. Hansen. And Mr. Murphy you have the option to stay here or come with us."

I tilt my head. "Where are you going?" I asked getting a pen from the woman at the front desk. "To meet your daughter, of course."

At that moment I thought I was about to cry. Jesus. My daughter?? I AM GONNA HAVE A DAUGHTER?! I felt excitement boil up inside me. And said I was going to stay and sign. Evan followed the woman down the hall.

-Evan's POV-

The building was an old school that got demolished and rebuilt into a similar looking building, to give you an idea of what it looks like.

I turn a corner with the lady and I was met with a door. It was a pink door that had a much of different butterfly stickers near the bottom of the door which were probably put there by the kids.

She opened the door and wrapped up in a cradle, was my future daughter, Skye Hansen. (A/n YEP FROM BEETLEJUICE)

I was felt a tear roll down my cheek as she handed me the bundle of blue and purple blankets. She gazed up at me with hazel eyes. She had a bit of dirty blonde hair, covering a bit of her face. I moved a lock away and she held my finger.

Yep, I was crying. "And I'm sorry Mr. Hansen, but, she might not make it." I looked up at the woman in confusion. "What do you mean..?"

"She was born with arrhythmia, a congenital heart disease that makes her heart weak and could be killed from tetralogy of Fallot in her pulmonary artery."

I looked down at her and she cooed at me and giggled. I smiled. "It's alright," I said rocking her back and forth. "Great, thank you for giving her a home, Mr. Hansen." The woman said and we shook hands.

I came back out to the main floor with her in my arms. Connor had finished signing the papers and was handing them to the lady at the front desk. He turned and saw her. He covered his mouth to either prevent himself from screaming or from shock.

The woman, (who I later learn's name is Barbara) explained what arrhythmia a little more. So it was a congenital heart disease, I already knew that but it was surprising to Connor.

She said how we need to teach her breathing exercises when she got scared because if her heart rate becomes too high it could be extremely bad. So having anxiety could come in handy once and a while.

And just like that, we walked out the door and back into our car. Well, his car. Not really my car but that's not the point.

"Oh wait can you pop the trunk? I need to get something." I asked and Connor nodded. When the door opened I pulled out a car seat for Skye. I buckled it in the back and got in the passenger seat.

I huffed.

"What about baby food?-"

"I got it all last night."

"And-"

"Last night."

"Woah."

I looked over at Connor. "Heh, yeah. I did it when you were asleep." He smiled and started the car. I have a child. A whole damn baby sitting in the back seat of my car. Well technically toddler because she's only 2 but still.

-No one's POV-

Almost an hour later, they got home. Evan carried Skye up the the spare bedroom and placed her in the cradle. "You built that last night? You did all of that last night?" Connor asked from the doorway. "You're a heavy sleeper." Evan shrugged and headed down the hall, only a few steps.

Connor followed and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned with a puzzled expression. "How...um...how long have you known about,"

"Skye?" "Yeah." "A month or so?" Connor's heart dropped. "Evan! You should have told me!" He said in a hushed voice. Evan took a breath.

"I'm not sorry..."  Evan replied, crossing his arms. Connor looked away, Evan's expression softened. "You deserved a chance to meet your daughter, now's your chance to become a father." Connor felt his hands being softly held by Evan's.

"Look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now." Connor picked his head up and looked at Evan. He smiled softly at him.

"You must love being the dangerous screwup's soon to be husband." Connor muttered, looked back at the floor, shamefully and on the verge of tears.

Evan gently pushed Connor's chin up with his finger, his shining cobalt blue eyes meeting with Connor's dark russet eyes. "I cherish being yours, my love..." Evan cooed gently. "Look around~" He held his hand out, gesturing around the room.

"Look at where you are..." He said, looking down and tapping his shoe on Connor's in a teasing matter.

"Look at where you started, the fact that you're alive is a miracle! Just stay relaxed, that would be enough." He said in a comforting voice, tilted his head to the side.

He let go of Connor's hands and went into Skye's room. He gently picked her up and carried her to Connor. "And if this child, shares a fraction of your smile, or a fragment of your mind~" Skye giggled happily as Evan held up his daughter high.

He nuzzled her nose. "Look out world, that would be enough!" He turned back to Connor, who was rubbing his shoulders, shaking. His smile slowly faded. Evan set Skye on the ground who crawled away.

"I don't pretend to know...the challenges your facing, the worlds you keep erasing and creating in your mind. But I'm not afraid...I know who I'm marrying." Evan cupped Connor's face in his hands.

"If I could grant you peace of mind, If you could let me inside your heart~ oh let me apart of the narrative, in the story they will write someday~"

"Let this moment be the first chapter, where you decide to stay..." He gently said as he pulled Connor closer. "And we could be enough...that would be enough." Evan got on his tip-toes and kissed Connor.

'Relaxed, finally.' Connor thought for the first time in a while.
