I was in physics class sitting next to Cam. The bell was about a minute away from ringing when Asher walked into the room. He walked right up to me, but he looked over and talked to Cam instead.

"How's your shoulder, Cameron?" Asher slyly looked at Cam. What the fuck is going on here? I didn't think Asher ever talked to Cam.

"It's fine." Cam shrugged. He also looked confused.

"Great. That's really great." Asher turned his head to look over at me. "Cupcake, why do you even hang out with Cammy boy?" He pat Cam's injured shoulder, causing him to grimace. Once again, he looked scary. His grey eyes were hard and focused solely on me. His mouth was in a thin line of clear distaste. Why does he even care that I'm hanging with Cam?

"He's a nice guy. He introduced me to basically everyone here. He's been a great friend. Take your fucking hand off of him." I replied with a harsh tone. He's really starting to piss me off.

"Nice guy, huh?" He chuckled, except this time it came out as condescending. He finally lifted his hand off of Cam's shoulder and put it on the back of my neck. He leaned closer to me and whispered in my ear, "You really don't know much about him do you?" He stayed by my ear for a couple of seconds longer before he took his hand off of my neck and backed away again.

"I obviously know more about him than you fucking do. I know more about him than I know about you. Where are you even going with this, Asher?" My heart was racing, but I wouldn't let him know that small gesture affected me so much.

"That's where you're wrong. I know more about him than you think. Or he thinks." He turns his head back to Cam and I do too. Cam looked at Asher with a mix between shock and anger.

"Shut the hell up. You have no idea what you're talking about. Stop putting batshit crazy ideas in her head." Cam honestly looked infuriated and I never thought I'd see him angry.

"Crazy ideas, right. 'Cause they're just all in my imagination, right? The golden boy would never have any life changing secrets. Right Mr. Quarterback?" He looks way too sly right now.

"What the hell are you talking about, Asher?" I interject. It looks like it could get messy and I don't want anyone getting in trouble for fighting in the middle of the fucking pyshics classroom.

"You'll find out sooner or later, Cupcake. It's just a matter of time before you get involved." He looks at me dead in the eyes and then walks away to the back towards his seat.

"Cam, what was he talking about?" I question uncertainty.

"He's full of shit." Cam responds, still staring daggers at Asher.

"That was really fucking weird. What kind of secrets does the golden boy have? Accidentally cut class that one day in seventh grade?" I laugh, trying to lighten the mood. But obviously that didn't work because it was a terrible fucking joke.

"He thinks he knows so much about everything." Cam grumbles, turning to the front of the room where the teacher just entered.

"Well does he?" I ask.

"I'm starting to think he might."

It was now lunch and I was sitting down with Cam. He had been pretty silent since the small altercation with Asher last period.

"Hey, are you okay?" I look over at him. He's only eaten half of his spaghetti and lunch was almost over.

"Yeah. I'm just peachy. Just thinking." He told me while poking at the noodles.
