"I'm what?" He asked. Very calmly, may I add, which made it even more terrifying. His face was now completely void of emotion and blank. He has his guard up. He's frightening and malicious and for some reason I fucking like it. I really fucking like it.
"You heard me very clearly. You are a part of the silver snakes. I know Dax and Harrison are-"
"Why the fuck would you think that?" He cut me off, still with his calm voice and expressionless face.
"Stop playing dumb. I know exactly what I'm talking about. Harrison and Dax were at a certain illegal car race last night that I know you know about. Harrison might've possibly even won the race of the year against the Rottweiler. The Mamba is quite the champion isn't he?" I smirk over at Asher.
"You're playing with fire right now, Cupcake." Ah, the nickname is back.
"And why is that?" I took a step closer to him and lowered my gaze towards his hand that was still gripping my upper arm.
"You don't know who you're talking to."
"Then tell me." He grabs my chin with his thumb, middle and index finger and forces my head up to look him straight in the eye.
"It sounds like you already know, don't you?"
"I can assume." The hand that was gripping my chin now moves so it is resting on the side of my neck.
"Your assumption will be wrong."
"You're in the gang. It's as simple as that. You work with Dax and Harrison. It's so obvious, I don't know how no one else realizes it."
He leans closer towards me and his lips graze my ear as he whispers, "I will always be capable of more than whatever you're thinking." I feel his slightly heavier than normal breathing, and it causes shivers to run down my entire body.
"Please elaborate." I breathe. Don't let how close he is affect you. Don't let how close he is affect you. Don't let how close he is affect you.
"Wouldn't you like to know." He chuckles in my ear, which once again sends more shivers down my spine.
"I don't think you realize that you're the one playing the dangerous game." I respond once my confidence returns.
"And why is that?" He leaned back and placed his hand on the back of my neck, causing me to not be able to look away from his eyes.
"I know about the bloodhounds too. I know a lot about the bloodhounds."
"I figured you would." He sighs. "Cam is in the bloodhounds. Dax also told me about the fight where you recognized the Great Dane. How much do you really know about them?"
"I may be closer to them than you'd realize." I'm not going to mention my dad being the greyhound. That would be stupid.
"How much do you know about them?" He repeated.
"Why did you start ignoring me and treating me like shit again?" I countered.
"I asked you the question first."
"What are you, fucking twelve? Just answer my damn question."
"I didn't want you to get involved."
"So your solution to not getting me involved is cussing me out and ignoring me?"
"Yeah. Does that not work?"
I sigh. "I knew you were lying. You're not the best liar, you know?"
"Fuck that. Yes I am. Just not... Nevermind." He cuts himself off and tears his gaze from my eyes.
