Thursday After Work

"They like cookies right?", Kennedy asks walking in the grocery store and on facetime with August. "They like cookies, brownies, cake, cupcakes. They like almost everything.", August says eating pizza. "Ooh, we can make pizza from scratch then bake a cake together!", she says picking up the cake mix.

August's POV

Kennedy wants to make a good impression on the girls, even though they already like her based off the first time she met them. She was going on about how she hasn't seen them in a while, their opinion could change and shit. It's cute though, so I'm just gonna let her do her.

"That'll be good for y'all to do.", August says drinking his water. "When I said 'we' I meant all of us Anthony.", Kennedy says grabbing frosting. "Oh, I thought you would just wanna do it with the girls.", he says.

"I do, but who would I be if I didn't make their uncle do it with us? Plus they've only met me once, they're not comfortable with me like that.", she says picking up milk and eggs. "You right, hey while you're there, can you pick up a shit ton of snacks?", he asks eating chicken wings.

"Yeah, what am I picking up?", she asks. "Chips, it doesn't matter what kind. Chewy bars, peanut butter crackers, popcorn, ummm oh! Fruit snacks and Rice Krispie's.", he says. "Got it.", she says. "Thank you loveeee.", he says. "No problem, I'll see you in a bit.", she says.

"Okay, he already has flour, sugar, and salt at the crib. So I just need yeast, pizza sauce, more cheese, and toppings, cool.", Kennedy says looking down at her phone and accidentally hitting someone with her cart. "Oh my God, I am so sorry. Are you- nevermind.", she says realizing it's Peyton that she ran into. "I'm fine, thanks for almost asking.", Peyton says.

"Yeah, whatever.", she says starting to walk again. "Wait.", he says grabbing her arm. "Don't touch me.", she says snatching her arm away quickly. "Why are you giving me the cold shoulder Ken? You're the one that left me.", he asks. "I left after you cheated, did you forget? Also, in case you forgot, I cheated too. I knew you were gonna pull that card on me, so. Anyways, I gotta go.", she says starting to walk away.

"Speaking of that, I miss you.", Peyton says making Kennedy bust out into laughter. "You miss me? Nigga have you not been keeping up? I have a whole boyfriend. Even if I didn't, I don't want yo ass back.", Kennedy says. "That nigga? Mm.", he says rolling his eyes. "Yeah that nigga, who would not like that you stepping to me with this bullshit you talking right na.", she says.

"Funny thing he isn't gonna know.", he says. "Actually he is. Funny that you thought he wasn't. Byeeeee.", she says waving while walking away and starting to call August. "What's up?", August says answering the phone. "You will not believe who just stepped to me in this store.", she says. "Who?", he asks. "Peyton.", she says.

"Seriously? What that nigga say?", August asks. "I ran into him on accident while looking up homemade pizza ingredients and I was like my bad blah, blah, blah and I was about to walk away when he stopped me by grabbing my arm.", Kennedy says walking grabbing vitamin water. "The fuck is he touching you fa?", he asks raising his eyebrow.

"Like hell if I know. Anyways, I was like don't touch me and he like why you giving me the cold shoulder, you was the one who left me woot da woot. Fast forward, the nigga told me he missed me.", she says starting to laugh again. "He miss you, but he fucked up witchu. Make that make sense dumb ass nigga.", August says laughing.

"My point exactly. Then I was like, have you not been keeping up? I have a whole man outchea who would not appreciate you stepping to me with this bullshit. He gone say that you ain't gone know, like yes you are because I'm about to tell you.", Kennedy says shaking her head.

"Why is he even tryna keep conversation with you? Much less even tell you that he misses you, he could've kept that piece of bullshit information to himself. As a matter of fact, I'm on my way.", he says getting up out of bed and putting his sweats on.

"Babe, no.", she says. "You can't tell me shit like this then expect me to stay calm, I'm on my way.", he says. "I expect you to stay calm because you expected me to stay calm when girls on top of girls came up to me telling me how fine you are and what they'd do to you if they saw you. I still don't know how I was able to do that.", she says.

"This is your ex though, not a fan.", August says tying his shoes. "I understand that, but this was just a laugh and move on type of thing. Not a laugh, get mad, then wanna beat ass type of thing.", Kennedy says.

"Okay.. Okay, fine I'll chill.", he says grabbing his keys. "Alright, I'm about to check out. Then I'll be over there.", she says walking towards the checkout lines. "Okay, I'll see you.", he says walking downstairs and out of the door.

Hell yeah I'm still going down there, the fuck she thought this was? That nigga gives me mad weirdo vibes. He really randomly told his ex that he missed her when him and everyone in the world knows she has a man? Weird.

Outside of the Store

Kennedy's putting the bags of groceries in her car until a voice halts her motions. "Why isn't your 'man' here to help you put these in your car?", Peyton asks making her roll her eyes. "Why are you following me? You do know this exceeds weirdo level right?", Kennedy asks closing her trunk.

"I was just asking you a question.", he says. "And I was just telling you to back the fuck up off my girl and take ya goofy ass home.", August says walking up behind Kennedy.

"Didn't I tell you not to come?", Kennedy asks turning around to look at him. "Yes you did and it's a good thing I didn't listen. Anyways, back to yo dumbass. The fuck you doing telling her you miss her when you the one that fucked up?", August asks stepping in front of Kennedy.

"I'm dumb, but ain't you the nigga who was fucking with a taken girl?", Peyton asks. "Sure am, and look who's standing here without her. You clearly couldn't keep her, so she came to somebody who could.", August says as Kennedy stands there watching in shock.

"So you're really proud that you stole somebody's girl? Yet I'm the weird one.", he says. "How did I steal a girl from a relationship that was already over? Learn how to keep one then hit me back.", he says. "She was kept, until you came in ruining shit.", he says.

"Pause, you do know that I know you cheated first right? August didn't ruin anything, Meeka did." Kennedy says stepping in front of August. "I already knew you were cheating, that's why I handled shit how I did. I was holding that in a for a whileeeee. I still don't know why I was trying to protect your feelings when mine weren't considered once.", she says rolling her eyes.

"Case closed. I'll see you at home baby.", August says putting a hand around Kennedy's neck and kissing her. "Looks like you mad you can't do that anymore, ha.", he says pulling away and smiling devilishly while letting her neck go. "See now you just poppin shit.", Peyton says.

l"Actually, I'm not. If you not gone hit me, I'm gonna go. Like I said, I'll see you at home.", he says walking to his car as Peyton tries to sneak him but he's stopped by Kennedy grabbing his arm and twisting it behind his back.

"Try again bitch. Now you gone take yo ass home back to that dirty ass bitch of yours, leave us alone, and if you bother us again I'm not even gone hesitate on telling that man to beat yo ass.", Kennedy says pushing him hard while he walks away moaning in pain.

"You okay baby?", August asks. "I'm fine, are you?", Kennedy asks. "I'm good, that nigga is a whole different type of weird.", he says. "Facts, but I'll see you at the crib.", she says leaning up and pecking his lips a few times.
