XXXXII- Playing Matchmaker.

The Next Day at Work

"Ken, I have a question.", Angel says as Kennedy puts some finishing touches on her hair. "What's up?", Kennedy asks putting her comb down and grabbing her edge control and edge brush. "Is August's friend single?", she asks. "Elijah? Yeah, I think so. Why?", she asks starting to do her edges.

"I think he's cute, and we talked a little bit when we were at the club that one night, but of course that was months ago. He's all of a sudden become a very common thought.", she says as Kennedy starts smiling. "What I tell you? What the fuck did I tell you? One of these dudes is gonna hit you different than the rest, without sex.", she says whispering the last part.

"I wouldn't say all of that, but I wouldn't mind seeing where things go, if given the chance of course.", Angel says as Kennedy puts the edge control and edge brush back on the vanity. "Well, I'm done, and do you want me to talk to August? I can get his number fa youuu.", Kennedy says turning her around so she can see herself in the mirror.

"Thank you babyyy and ehhh.. I don't know.", she says as Kennedy sits in the chair next to her. "Do you want me to call August and you can ask him?", she asks raising his eyebrow. "Mmmm...", she says scrunching her nose.

Angel is turning 23 this month and she hasn't been in a serious relationship since before I moved down here, meaning she was around 18 or 19. Also meaning she hasn't been in the game in a while, I got this though.😉

With August

"Man I want a girlfriend, you sitting up in here with yo girl.. Being all lovey dovey and shit, I want that.", Elijah says as August tosses a water bottle to him. "Well, what typa girl you lookin fa?", August asks as he catches it. "I don't even know.", he says. "Wow that's helps me out a lot, thanks.", he says sarcastically making him flip him off, "You can take that and shove it up ya ass.", August says drinking his water.

"It's the brutality for me.", Elijah says acting shocked. "Oh shut up, I may have a girl for you though forreal.", he says putting his bottle on the table. "Who?", he asks raising his eyebrow. "Ken's homegirl, Angel.", he says.

"Ol girl that was with her when we went to the club a little while back?", Elijah asks. "Yeah.", August says nodding. "Oh.. she fine.", he says raising his eyebrow in anticipation. "You want her number? I can call Ken and get it.", he asks. "Yeah, slide em over.", he says.

"I'm just gonna tell you before Ken does, please don't run no game on this woman or I'll beat ya ass myself.", he says grabbing his phone. "Now why would I- I'm not like that.", he says folding his arms. "You used to be, I ain't forgot nigga.", he says unlocking his phone and starting to call Ken.

Back with Ken & Angel

"Last time I'm asking, do you want me to call him?", Kennedy asks with her thumb over August's number. "Okay.. okay, fine. Go ahead.", Angel says nodding and doing the motion with her hand as Ken's phone rings.

Papa🥰 would like to FaceTime..

"Speak of the devil, hey babe. We was just talking about you.", Kennedy says answering the phone and smiling. "Hey beautiful, what y'all talking bout me fa? And we who?", August asks raising his eyebrow. "Me and Angel and because we have a match to be madeeee baby.", she says. "Huh.. funny you say that, cause that's why I called you.", he says. "Oh word? What's poppin then bae?", she asks.

"Elijah calls himself wanting a girl, so I said why not put him on with my ol lady homegirl?", he asks making her smile at Angel. "I was thinking the same damn thing, shall we?", she asks. "We shall.", he says. "Get out.", August and Kennedy say in unison while handing their phones to Angel and Elijah. "Well damn.", Angel and Elijah say in unison taking their phones and walking outside.

"Ight I'll see you at home baby, I love you.", August says. "I love you too papa, byeeee.", Kennedy says hanging up, "So?", she asks eagerly putting her phone in her lap and looking at Angel. "We have a date Friday night.", Angel says smiling. "Yesssss, let's go!", she says clapping.

Back with August

"Nigga if you don't get off of me!", Elijah says pushing August away from him. "I'm just happy for you bro, you haven't even thought about taking a woman seriously in years.", August says smiling. "Hey, I done went through my hurt nigga, hurt women stage. Let's just see how shit goes.", he says shrugging.

"Good thing you got out of that cause you was doing some grimy shit bro.", he says shaking his head. "I wouldn't say grimy...", he says scratching his head. "Well that's what it was, grimy.", he says looking down at his phone.

"Okayyy... How's Ken taking you going on tour soon?", Elijah asks. "My baby gone miss me, of course. I hate being away from her man, under any circumstance. Now I'm going on a three-month tour and I'm not gonna able to see her for weeks at a time. FaceTime is about to become our new bestfriend.", August chuckles leaning back on the couch.

When Ken Comes Home

"So that's where my jacket went.", August says watching her walk in the door wearing one of his jackets. "Well hello to you too.", Kennedy says closing the door. "My bad, hey baby. How was the rest of your day?", he asks as she sits next to him on the couch. "It was great, thank you, and yes I stole your jacket.", she says smiling.

"Nah, it's fine that you took it. I was just wondering where it was.", he says wrapping his arm around her. "It was kinda cold in the salon, then I remembered you left this in the car.", she says smelling his jacket and closing her eyes. "My jackets are your jackets babe.", he says smiling as she snuggles up under him.

"Yo I really can't believe we played matchmaker, and we actually made a match! That is so dope.", Kennedy says watching the movie. "I know right, let's start a matchmaking business.", August says looking down at her. "K+A's Matches Made in Heaven.", she says making a sign with her hands. "No.", he says with a straight face. "Why not?", she says poking her bottom lip out.

"It's too long, and basic.", he says shaking his head. "I know something that's too long.", she says looking up at him. "There is no such thing as 'too long'.", he says smacking his lips. "Yes there is, and it's that.", she says pointing at it. "You don't be saying that when it's down ya throat, or deep in ya guts, so.", he shrugs.

"A point has been made.", she laugh. "You a G huh?", August asks. "Been that baby.", Kennedy says flipping her hair.
