"Baby, come here!", August says as he finishes putting the mistletoe up. "What's up?", Kennedy asks walking down the stairs with Gypsy. "Come here and stand in front of me." he says looking her way and smiling. "Okay.", she says standing in front of him. "Now what?", she asks smiling. "Look up.", he says as they both look up at the mistletoe. "Baby.", she says smiling and placing a soft kiss on his lips.

"Can you make me a sandwich?", he asks grabbing her ass. "Nigga- yeah, just take Gypsy and get his food.", she says handing Gypsy to him and walking to the kitchen. "Thank you.", he says following her and smacking her ass as she opens the fridge. "Mhm.", she says.

"Hey Maiya.", Kennedy says as Amaiya walks downstairs. "Hey Ken.", Amaiya says smiling. "You want me to fix you something to eat?", she asks standing up. "No, I was just gonna make some noodles.", she says walking in the kitchen. "Alright, if you need me just call me or August.", she says about to walk towards the bathroom when her phone rings. "Ken-", August says walking down the steps, but gets cut off.

"Hold on, hello?", she says answering the phone. "Is this Kennedy?", a male voice asks. "This is she, who is this?", she asks raising her eyebrow. "Your father.", the voice says making her drop her phone. "Babe, who is it?", August asks walking to her and cupping her face, but her only response is no response.

"Hello? Kennedy?", her father, Kenneth says. August picks up the phone. "Hello?", August says. "Who's this?", Kenneth asks. "Her boyfriend, who you?", he asks raising his eyebrow. "Her father.", he says making his eyes widen. "Excuse me? How I know you ain't on some bullshit?", he asks putting the phone on speaker.

"Well, my name is Kenneth Underwood. Her mother, Robin gave all her kids her last name because.. well I think you get the gist of why if you've been around Kennedy long enough. I left Robin when Kennedy was 8 years old, my intentions were leaving Robin, not my daughter.", he says. "Then why didn't you ever come back for me?", she asks taking the phone away from August.

"I couldn't get custody for you, no matter how hard I tried. And trust me, I tried. Your mother is just-", Kenneth says. "A manipulative ass bitch? I know.", Kennedy says rolling her eyes. "Exactly.", he says sighing. "Where are you and how did you get my number?", she asks.

"I'm in Atlanta, and I ran into your brother at the supermarket and got it.", he says. "Huh, okay.", she says. "Do you not live down here anymore?", he asks. "Nah, I moved to Cali about four years ago.", she says. "Oh.", he says.

"Yeah, I'll talk to you later.", Kennedy says hanging up the phone. "Are you okay?", August asks rubbing her back. "I don't know.", she says looking at him as he pulls her in for a hug. "Why is my family so fucked up?", she asks hugging him back. "Babygirl..", he sighs while rubbing her back.

"So I have this tradition where all of us opens one of our presents for Christmas Eve, but make sure that the present you choose says from Uncle Aug & Ken.", Kennedy says smiling as the girls rush to the tree. "You wanna do ours later?", August asks looking down at her on his lap. "Yeah, I'm just gonna let them enjoy themselves with their gifts for now.", she says looking at him. "That's fine baby.", he says rubbing her thigh.

"Thank y'all.", the girls say in unison. "No problem babies, I hope y'all liked your presents.", Kennedy says looking at them.

We got Chay some Jordan's that she's been whining about having for a while, we got Amaiya some of her favorite fragrances from Bath & Body Works, and we got Kay a karaoke machine since she loves to sing haha.

"Okay, here you go papa. I was gonna give you something else, but I really felt like I needed to give it to you now.", Kennedy says handing August a small bag. "Okay thank you, and here you go baby.", August says taking the bag handing her a wrapped up box. "Thank you, you can go first.", she says taking the box and sitting it in her lap.

"Aight.", he says opening up the bag and taking a box out of it and opening it. "Oh my- Ken.", he says tearing up, making her move the box and wrap her arms around him. "Look at the back.", she says as he flips it around and starts crying.

Kennedy
It was a heart shaped necklace with a picture his brother Mel and his sister Chandra in it on one side and a picture of him and the girls on the other.

"Let me put it on you.", Kennedy says taking the necklace from him and putting it on. "Thank you baby.", August says wrapping his arms around her and crying into her chest. "They're both watching out for you in heaven, baby. You and the girls.", she says taking his head out of her chest and looking in his eyes. "Okay?", she says wiping his tears as he nods in response.

"Aight, I'm sorry. I just had a moment, go ahead and open yours.", he says sniffling and rubbing his hand across his nose. "It's fine baby, and okay.", she says grabbing the box from behind her and opening it then immediately smiling at the sight. "Baeeee.", she says looking down at the diamond stud earrings.

"I saw you looking extra hard at em when we went to the mall when I was here for Thanksgiving, so I got them when you were in Vicky Secrets.", August says smiling. "Thank you baby.", she says smiling and kissing him.

"Baby, what's wrong?", August asks as Kennedy walks out with red, puffy eyes. "I was just thinking a lot about my dad.", Kennedy says putting her bonnet on and laying down next to Aug as he wraps his arm around her. "Talk to me.", he says looking down at her. "August, where do I even start?", she asks sighing. "The beginning would be nice.", he says smiling making her laugh.

"Aight smartass.", she says mushing his head. "I was tryna make you smile, and it worked. Go on.", he says. "Okay, like he told you he left when I was 8. I wasn't there when the argument between him and my mom went down, all I remember is him not picking me up from school and my cousin had to come get me. So of course I'm asking "Where's daddy? He was supposed to come get me.", but at this time he was long gone.", she says.

"Kudos to him leaving your mom, ol bat faced ass bitch over here looking like she could disintegrate at any moment. Hurting my baby- I'm sorry, go on.", August says, making her shake her head and smile.

"Anyways, yeah my dad was gone. I always thought I had something to do with it, but now that I'm older I know I wasn't the case. I was just upset that my dad never came for me, I spent 10 more years with the wicked witch of the south. That whole time, I just wanted my daddy back.", she says as her voice cracks, making August pull her closer to him.

"I have no hard feelings towards him, especially now that I know him leaving had nothing to do with me and once again it was the common denominator, my mom.", she says.

"Do y'all have different daddies?", August asks. "Yeah, I've never met Mike's dad, but Bryson's? That nigga was the full blown definition of ain't shit.", Kennedy says shaking her head. "So, do you wanna ya know.. catch up with your dad?", he asks.

"Of course I do, my dad was everything. Well still is, I just wish he was there for every big moment in my life. He deserved to be there, much more than the bitch that is Robin.", she scoffs. "Well, I suggest you get to speaking up boo.", he says. "I will.", she says nodding.
