We were greeted my a smiling hostess, but Michael pushed past her when he spotted the boys. I offered her an apologetic smiled and followed closely behind him. He let go of my hand when we reached the table and part of me was disappointed.

Calum and Luke laughed at a joke Ashton was telling, all of them devouring the plate of French fries before them. I recognized the girl under Luke's arm, but I couldn't remember her name. Her blonde curls fell naturally over her shoulders and her eyes stayed fixed on Luke. After we took the remaining space in the booth, I recalled her name was Chloe, and that I saw her with Calum and Luke the night I met Michael. Everyone continued with a light conversation that I didn't pay too much attention too. I popped a few French fries in my mouth and pretended to be interested.

I felt Michael place his hand on my thigh, and electricity shot through my body. I looked up at him, and soon realized that everyone had their eyes on me.

Embarrassed, I said,"Uhh what?"

They responded with laughter before Calum repeated his question.

"I asked if you were okay with playing laser tag." Calum's smile was bright and contagious.

"Only if you're ready to loose." I winked and got up from the table, following Michael.

Michael stopped by the bathroom, out of sight from our friends.

"Why'd you drag me away?" I questioned.

"Would you like to explain to me what that was?" His face was blank when he spoke.

"What are you talking about, Michael?" I was disappointed that his mood shifted again.

"Why'd you wink at Calum? If you wanted to come here with him, you should've just said so." His green eyes were filled with something that I couldn't detect. He turned on his heels and walked into the arcade attached to the restaurant. I grabbed his wrist, spinning him around to look at me.
He towered over my small frame, but I returned his angry expression.

"Michael stop! You are the only person that I want to be here with. Don't you understand that? Why can't you see that I like you ." I stared at him with pleading eyes. He rubbed his temple, his face softening again.

He didn't say anything as the rest of the group caught up to us.

"So, laser tag?" Ashton looked back and forth between Michael and I.

"What are we waiting on? Let's go." Michael left me standing alone as he strode towards the huge sign that read LAZER TAG ARENA.

Everett looped her arm in mine and dragged me along. Calum followed closely behind Michael and pulled him aside. Whatever Calum whispered in his ear changed his whole attitude. Michael returned to me with a ticket and a smile, handing me a black vest and a lazer gun.

We filled into a small black room, where a young woman in khakis explained the rules to us. She pressed a button on the screen next to her, activating the vests and motioned for us to enter.

Everyone took off in different direction, and I stood by the door unsure of what to do. I wondered through the arena, with my hand firmly grasping the gun. I saw Luke out of the corner of my eye, and quickly took refuge behind a makeshift wall. When I peaked around the corner, I saw Michael. His eyes caught mine, and before I could run he was standing in front of me. I took steps back as he approached, until my back was on the wall. He smirked, pressing his body to mine.

"You are awful at this game." He extended his arm, placing his hand next it my head. Our faces remained inches apart until he started closing the gap between us. I took the opportunity to shoot him, and ducked under his arms. I took off running, hiding behind other objects to avoid his lazer.

I ran up the stairs that lead to the second level, and at the top I found Ashton and Everett kissing.

"Gross!" I shouted as I shot both of them. Ashton ran after me, but I failed to escape him without getting shot.

The giant T.V that hung over the entrance beeped, alerting us that our time was up. Calum and Luke high fived when they saw their scores at the top of the screen. I shook my head, laughing as I hung my vest back in its designated spot. As a group, we walked to the bar in the center of the arcade and ordered sodas.

As I stood by the counter, engaged in Ashton's stories of his lazer tag victory, I felt Michael's hands slide around my waste. I leaned into him, happy he was out of his mood.

"Can I talk to you for a second?" He whispered in my ear. I shook my head and lead him next to the air hockey table. I stood before him with my arms crossed over my chest.

"I'm sorry I freaked out earlier, I didn't mean what I said." He stared at his shoes as he talked.

"Was someone jealous?" I smirked.

"I...I just didn't know if you actually wanted to be with me." He tried to explain himself, but seemed to be at a loss of words.

"I heard what you told me that night in the back of your car. I thought that I made it obvious that I was falling for you, but I guess I hadn't." He looked genuinely shocked.

"You heard that?" He blushed lightly and pulled me into his arms. I shook my head and threw my arms around his neck. He leaned down, burying his head in my neck. I took in the smell of his cologne, not wanting to let go.
