Definitely, there was something different about the day, the four walls pointed out. The usually quiet house was today fascinated to see her so joyous. It was now dazzling on the tunes of its lady's hums.

The slow rhythmic taps of her feet against the floor making her soul sway on the command of her heart. Her body sensually moving in euphoria while those dark brown curls tripping on its own accord from one side to another. She twirled around as her sweet voice echoed in the entire house giving it a new joyance.

What was so special even today, her inner self breathed out.

Her smile was the response. The glow on her face didn't go unnoticed by the four walls. The manner in which everything unravelled today was making her happy.

Her naive heart had the courage to get happy by little things anyone would do for her. It was these small quirks of life which encouraged her to resist the bad days. When Ram today offered to drop her home, she was really elated to see him try. She could see him fighting with himself, but to see him make an effort even a tad bit is much more than what he could offer her.

Nobody is perfect but intentions matter more than actions, she believed.

Cajoling her sanity to not think more about it, she retreated to do the daily chores. Her stomach growled in return prompting her about the dinner that's still to be made.

Taking a sigh, Priya moved to the kitchen to prepare herself something to eat. Putting on her favourite 'Jagdish Singh' gazal, she continued finishing the rest of the work. The room shimmered in ecstasy, rare times when it was treated with a gazal.

A beautiful day it was indeed!

---------------

As the car slammed into the night traffic, his eyes bore the uncanniness which the soul couldn't comprehend. Everything that was taking place was not new but differently shaded for him. The shades of the rainbow his life was liking to paint were only to be cloaked by the sombreness of his existence.

Ram for a fact believed nobody stays for long. Certainly not when the other person gets to know how damaged you are from inside. Like a shield from outside, you have caged your true self in the mirage of your own creation whereas it is more like to protect it from being played by this world again.

You weep, you scream, you want to breathe but all you're a prisoner of your own identity.

He signalled Alex to stop at the side as the car raced out of the traffic on a lonely road. Making a few arrangements for him to get back to his place, Ram sat on the driver seat, speeding it further.

He needed to clear his head this time. He didn't wish to go back to his house, the place which is imprinted by 'Ram's failures' and 'The Ram Kapoor's success'.

He drove tirelessly until he was far away from the city, in a deserted land. Coming out from the car, he sat on the bonnet and stared straight into the darkness.

His mind was filled with many questions.

What was he even doing today? Was he even capable enough to keep someone happy?

After a point of time, he had stopped showing people his good because he knew people will just use you then. But what all happened today made he ponder about it all. He was muddled by his own self when he offered to drop her home.

He hasn't done such a thing in recent times but something in him urged him to show her his generosity. After all, she seemed nice and there was nothing harm he could see her offering him. Anyway, it was just a meet and he wouldn't get attached or something, he reasoned out many such things to himself.
