Harry ended up going back home after Zavier had woken up from his nap around noon. He wasn't sober all the way, but he swore to Harry he would be fine and wouldn't take another drink. He took his word for it since Zavier had a late shift to prepare for.
He also noticed Luna had left her flat in a rush. He didn't have time to talk to her or even give her a kiss goodbye. She looked very bothered, he thought. He wonders if it was over seeing Kristen.
Once Harry arrived home, he decided to catch up on the emails Beth had sent. He knows she's probably very busy and his disappearance must be driving her crazy. He's never really took time off before.
Harry's sitting on his bed and he opens up his laptop. He checks his emails and there are now eight unread emails from Beth. He reads through them all. None of the emails were really concerned over his reason for taking off. Of course, she's a busy woman. He sighs and decides to reply.
'To: Beth Randolph
From: Harry Styles
Subject: RE: Come back ASAPHi Beth,
I'm back and I will get to the advice column now.Best,
Harry.'He sends his reply and goes back to read the emails her assistant had sent him about the new advice column. Before he could get into it, Beth was quick to reply.
'From: Beth Randolph
To: Harry Styles
Subject: RE: Come back ASAPFantastic! Come by the office right now.'
Harry groans. He wasn't set to go into the office until after the weekend. But if she says to go, he has to. He closes his laptop and gets out of bed. He walks to his closet to change out of his sweatpants. He puts on light blue jeans and throws on a black t-shirt. He runs a hand through his hair and it's a mess. He decides he can't fix it. He puts on a grey newsboy cap to cover it up and he looks better. He feels better. He grabs his phone after tying the laces of his white vans and then he heads out. He grabs his black coat by the door on the way.
He signals for a cab the moment he steps out of the building. He gets into the back seat before telling the driver his destination. Once he's settled in the moving cab, he takes out his phone from the pocket of his coat.
'To Luna
Hey, I'm going into work for a little. Want to meet up after?'
He texts her. He holds onto his phone for a little longer in case she texts back. She hasn't yet. She's probably busy at work, he figures. He puts his phone back into his pocket and looks out the window to watch the moving cars.
He arrives after a while to his work building and pays the driver along with the tip. He says goodbye and then gets out of the cab. He's walking inside the busy building and heads straight for the lift. He waits to arrive onto his floor while standing quietly next to other people. "Excuse me," he says while squeezing through the bodies.
"Mr. Styles! Good to see you. Is everything okay? You took off when we grabbed a bite and I haven't heard much," Nolan tells him. He's holding a paper tray of coffee then holds it out for Harry to take one.
"Hey, Nolan," he greets as he takes a cup of coffee from the tray. "Good to see you, too. And, yeah everything's good. Had an emergency, but now I'm back. What'd I miss?"
"A lot, actually," Nolan said while following Harry to his cubicle. "Beth is losing it. You haven't heard? She's been canceled by the internet."
"Canceled?" Harry asks after taking a sip from his coffee. He sets the cup down and takes off his coat to hang it on the back of his chair.
"Yeah, it's all over Twitter. A video leaked of her body-shaming plus-sized models. I'm absolutely floored by it, but I can't let her know that, right? She hasn't said anything about it, but it doesn't look good for her career." Nolan fills him in then sighs. "But dammit, I still have to bring her stupid coffee."
