Domino's New Girl

A Not-So Happy CEO

Seto Kaiba went straight to his office after his meeting. He flipped open his laptop and logged in, and read the email that Julia Williams has sent him. 

Preston's father got a hold of me, and I'm not okay. If you can come after your meeting, please do. I need to talk to you, more about it.

His heart skipped a beat, then he sighed. He still had work to get done, but being with her felt more important to him.

"Ugh.." He stepped out of his office and began to head over to her office.

Meanwhile, Julia was working and trying to not think about Joshua Ingram; Preston's father that called her. It stressed her out, but she didn't want to think about it at the moment, not until her boss showed up to talk to her about it. 

knock knock 

Well, now the thoughts of her ex filled her mind, as her boss Seto Kaiba walked through the door. He closed the door and locked it behind him, and Preston looked up at him.

"Hi!" The toddler yelled happily, which made the 2 adults smile a little, especially Seto Kaiba himself. 

"Williams." The CEO looked at Julia, and she looked back at him with worry in her eyes. "Are you going to talk to me or not? I have more work to do." She stood up and headed over to the couch to sit with him.

"I know, it's kind of dumb to talk to you about this; since you are my boss." She started, and her boss sighed in disappointment.

"Just tell me what the punk said." His famous snarky voice was annoying her, so she began.

"I was trying to work on the design that needs finished and a random number popped up on my phone."

flashback to earlier...

"Hello?" She asked, answering the call.

"Oh, good you answered." It was Joshua Ingram, Preston's father.

"Joshua?!" Julia screamed, making Preston stop playing with his toys and stared at his mother.

"Listen, please. I need to talk to you. Can we meet up and chat?" Her heart was beating out of her chest, and her breathing became shallow.

"No. I moved away, to get away from you." She calmed herself down before her anxiety attack got too bad.

"Where did you move to? I'll get there, I just need to see you."

"Forget it, Joshua. Preston and I are doing just fine here, not to mention; we moved out of the country." Then, there was a silent pause.

"You did WHAT?!" He screamed at her, making tears fill Julia's eyes.

"Yes, we moved to Domino City, Japan. So good luck getting here." She sighed in frustration and stress. "Why after 2 years you want to talk to me?" Joshua gave her a saddening sigh on the other end.

"I miss you, I miss Preston. I realized I fucked up, and my mom passed away a couple weeks ago. She would be disappointed in me if I wasn't there for my kid, even though I really never was."

"You fucked that up yourself. Preston and I have been doing great without you, and I must say, that I don't miss you." It pained poor Julia to talk to her ex-lover, making her miss him. She didn't want this feeling, she hated this feeling.

"I know, and I need to make it up to you. Please, I need to." She sighed in annoyance.

"No, Joshua. I'm working and I need to let you go. Don't call me again, do you understand? Don't contact me again, I don't want you in my life or in Preston's anymore. You did this to yourself."

End of flashback..

Julia just watched her son as he played with the stuffed Dark Magician and the stuffed Blue Eyes White Dragon with a hurtful smile on her face.

"I'm sorry for even talking to you about this instead of working, you're the only person I know here; well, was in contact with." She walked over to her desk and grabbed the box of tissues and brought them back to the couch, placing the box on the side table, taking some and blowing her nose, them discarding it into the trash. 

"What's his name?" The CEO was angry, but he tried t not show it on his face, but Julia could tell by his tone.

"Joshua Ingram." Julia walked over to her desk and picked up her phone. She sat back down next to the CEO and found his number, not even saved into her phone. "This is his number." 

"Call him." Her boss demanded.

"What!?" Julia exclaimed. "Why!?" 

"Don't doubt me, Williams." Kaiba pinched the bridge of his nose. "Just call him." Julia was so nervous, but she pressed the call button, and put her phone in Seto's hand. "I'll do the talking if you don't make a sound. Understand?" Julia nodded, swallowing her fear. 

"I'm going back to my desk, Sir." Seto nodded and watched her walk back to her desk.

"Julia?" He answered, this Joshua Ingram answered.

"Is this Joshua Ingram?" The angered CEO asked over the phone.

"Yes? Who is this and where's Julia?" Julia's boss snickered into the phone.

"She's working, this is her boss." 

"Oh, hello sir. Did her phone get taken away because of me?" Kaiba couldn't help but laugh at his idiotic question.

"You imbecile, I can get you for harassment against my associate. This number will be blocked if you get in contact with her again, do you understand?" Seto threatened.

"Sir, you contacted me by calling me from her phone."

"You think I knew that? If you come here to see her or Preston, then you have to get through me first." Julia perked her face up at her boss, with a grin on his face.

"Making threats? I'll gladly come up there and take her and my son back."

"Your son? Please, this is her 2nd day here and her son already adores me. Get on my level punk, now I have work to do." Julia watched as the angered CEO played on her phone and handed it back to her.

"Thank you, Sir." Julia took her phone back with a red face, to see her boss looking at her son.

"Just call me Seto." 

"Then call me Julia."
