Chapter 13

I saw Pony reading to Sam, then she started to get sleepy. Pony fell asleep after a few chapters, I grabbed a blanket and put it on them so they don't get cold. I went to check up on Johnny, he was curled up into a ball shaking. I put the blanket on him and then left to go to bed.

I woke up and Sam wasn't in the room, maybe she got up early. I used her bathroom to shower. I went downstairs to see her and Pony sleeping on the couch.

Soda: Hey Pony wake up, we got school

Ponyboy: Alright I'm getting up

Soda: also wake up Johnny

Darry was in the kitchen making breakfast, I went to change into my clothes and then pack my books. I heard Steve walk in being loud, did he not see Sam was sleeping?

Soda: Steve keep it down, she's sleeping

Steve: Sorry buddy didn't notice

Soda: Go help yourself with some food Steve I gotta find my shirt

Darry: Better hurry up little buddy

Soda: I'm hurrin' don't you need to be at work?

Darry: I took off to stay with Sam

Soda: All right see y'all later

I woke up and Darry was still here, doesn't he have work? Everyone left to school and I was stuck at home. I got up and went to my room. I took a shower and then got dressed, I ran downstairs and Darry was reading the newspaper.

Sam: Hey Dar

Darry: Hey kid, do you want to do anything today?

Sam: I heard there's a festival today

Darry: If you want to go we can, it doesn't start until 12

Sam: Ok I'm going to eat

Dally came and sat on the floor, I heard them talking. "Look I don't like that you want to be with her, but right now you need to be her friend" "I know" I grabbed my cup of water and went to the living room. I took my phone out to text Archie. He said that he will come over later to drop off my homework and other assignments.

Darry: Alright you want to head to the festival now?

Sam: Yeah, Dally you want to come?

Dally: Uh sure

We walked to the festival, I was happy to get out of the house. Once we got there we bought tickets for the rides, I made Darry go on the roller coasters. He hates them but he went on for me. Dally was playing one of those games for a prize. We went on the swings, I was a little scared but Darry held my hand. After that we went to find Dally.

Sam: Darry there he is

Dally: Here Sam *hands her a stuffed monkey*

Sam:  It's cute! Thank you Dal

Darry: That was nice, come on let's do the bumper cars *runs off*

Sam: I never seen Darry act like this before

Dally: Yeah me either, it's weird

*Looked at each other then laughed*

We followed Darry to the bumper cars line. I guess we lost track of time because the whole gang was here and so were my other friends. After while we all ate, Soda was trying to steal my stuffed monkey from me. Dally and I went to play another game, he kept laughing that I was losing every time.

Dally: Ok one more time, I'll let you win this time

Sam: Oh let me win? game on

We both took the basketball and started shooting. You only  need to make 4 in the basket and you win a prize. I just needed 2 more and he needed 1 to win. Finally I got another basket, now we both needed 1 more to win.

Sam: Hey Dal, how do you shoot a basket?

Dally: hold it like this, now bend your legs, then you can shoot

Sam: Haha I win!

Dally: Yeah you got me this time

The guy handed me the big bear and we went back to the others. We didn't realize how late it was, but I didn't care. I was having fun. Dally made me feel something I never felt before. No Sam, Darry said you can't be with him. But he seems harmless, he was being nice to me. No you can't, he could get you in trouble.

We got in the car and Darry drove. I sat in the back with Dally and Soda sat in the front, I put my bear in between me and Dally. I laid my head on it and Dally held my hand, I turned to look at him and he had a smile on his face. That made me smile but also blush. Samantha no you can't like him, Darry would be mad. I looked out the window and we were home, we let go of our hands and got out. Dally grabbed the big bear for me and brought it in.

Sam: Thanks Dal

Dally: Anytime Crystal

Soda: Well that was fun

Sam: It was my idea, I wanted to do something fun

Darry: Yeah I felt like a kid again

Sam: You were a kid *giggles*

Darry: Thanks Sam, showing me how to have fun again

Sam: You're welcome brother
