Hoseok panted as he tried to get his balance. When he looked around he found himself standing in the ground where Yoongi and Jimin were present. But, surprisingly he couldn't see one of them. The whole ground was empty. He guessed the shield altered with the reality of the game.
"Why put so much effort for Games?" Hoseok mumbled to himself as he searched around to spot for the damned switch. After looking for a while, he finally saw but only this time it didn't have holographic projections. He quickly ran to it's side and observed it. The width of the hole was exactly similar to the crystal they held.
It took a while to figure out how to access the inventory from his avator but finally realized that it was embedded in the bracelet he wore. He quickly searched through the inventory and selected the crystal.
"This better work" Hoseok uttered, leaning down to insert the crystal carefully.
It stopped halfway through the hole and fixed itself inside it. The plate around the switch made low mechanical noises as they turned around. It slowly rotated in anticlockwise and with each second, it moved back to reveal glowing blue part. Hoseok guessed that it was a way of showing that the key was opening something and the blue part represent how much it had done. He opened the inventory once again and selected his mechanical glasses. He put it on to check the radius of the circular plate and calculate the circumference.
After a short calculation, Hoseok figure out that it would probably take a hundred something for the key to unlock whatever it was. Helpless and lacking anything else to do, Hoseok leaned back watching the circle turn. There were multiple things working on his mind.
Firstly, he was taking a huge risk by using the VR. He and his machines were left completely vulnerable to attacks. And even though he knew that FireCrystals might not attack, he still couldn't be sure.
And then, he could still Jimin's broken cries and Yoongi begging to be let past the shield. He wasn't sure how long he could bear to hear his friends like that. Each cry, each begging was tearing him apart from the inside.
Hot tears slowly rolled down his cheeks as he watched the plate slowly turn around with each second. Hoseok found himself whispering the countdown under his breath as he waited hopelessly.
Yoongi staggered back up and wiped his tears. He looked around for his guns and found them lying a few feet away. He quickly picked them up and shoot towards the shield. He breathed out sharply when he saw his bullet make a small hole in the shield. It didn't stay for long, slowly recovering itself. But it was there.
He started shooting at the shield one after another till his magazine was empty.
Yoongi refilled his gun and shot at the barrier.
