Monday at school I decide it's time to tell my friends I've been talking to Dylan

First I wanted to tell Krista, since I'm closest with her and I'm not sure how the others will react.

With Krista, no matter what, I could count on her to hear me out, but I'm just hoping she doesn't make too big a deal out of this, because when it comes to boys, she gets a bit crazy.

"Hey Marinara sauce" she says running up to me using my childhood nickname.

I scowl at her for a second, but then respond saying, "I want to tell you something, but you can't tell anyone else?"

"Sure, what's up?"

"Well remember that new kid Dylan we were talking about a few days ago?"

"Oh no Marina, what's going on? Was he rude again, cause if so I'm gonna have some words with him"

"No Krista oh my god!"

"So what is it?" she questions becoming increasingly hyper.

"Well I got stuck with him on our history project and I had him over last Friday to work on it and..."

"WHAT! YOU HAD HIM OVER? WHAT THE SHIT I THOUGHT YOU HATED HIM!" She was so loud other kids were turning to look at us and I had to shush her

"Hey let me finish! We've been talking a lot more and I actually think he's alright.." At the end of my sentence I blush a little bit, and it was enough for Krista to notice.

She stays silent for a while then loudly yells "Somebody has a crushhh" in a sing song voice. I again have to shush her.

"Absolutely not! There's no way I would ever like someone like that! He's a player Krista!" I could feel my blush getting worse

"You can try to deny it, but your face is telling me otherwise!"

"Alright fine, maybe I like him a teeny tiny bit, but if you say anything I swear I'll hunt you down"

"I won't don't worry! Hey we should tell Matthew and Carlos what's up! They love listening to our stupid boy drama and even if we try to keep it a secret you and I both know they'll find out anyway" Krista exclaims and we both laugh

"Do you think they'll be ok with it? I know sometimes they can be a bit intense with this kinda stuff. You know how they do that thing where they whisper to each other and analyze the situation" I say then press my lips together and think about how this could turn out.

They're my best friends too, so I really shouldn't have this much doubt.

I never have this much of an issue talking about this stuff but things feel different when it's about Dylan.

"Alright alright, how about after school we all grab lunch together. We can go to our favorite pizza place down the road if that's ok with you" I ask hoping she doesn't bring up Dylan again.

"Yassss!! I'll text the other two!" Thank god, it seems like she's dropped the topic of boys.. well at least for now.

I say goodbye to her and we separate, since our last two classes of the day aren't together.

Usually having class without her makes me upset, but after telling her about Dylan, she would be nagging me about it every second and I sure as hell don't want to deal with that right now.

Carlos, Matthew, Krista and I arrive at the pizza place around the same time and run to the back to grab the only circular booth in the restaurant.
