Class feels slower and boring now that I don't talk to Dylan as much.
On a better note though, it's now the beginning of October and I'm super excited, because I love fall and all the spooky vibes that come with it!
Homecoming is also this month, which my friends and I have so much fun at.
We dance super obnoxiously even to the slow songs, which earns us glares from the couples trying to have their moment.
This is the last year we get to go, so we definitely have to make it memorable.
It's currently 12 PM on Saturday and I just texted my friends asking to hanging out. I really wanted to go to a new haunted house that opened up close to our school with them.
I wait an hour for them to respond, but when I check my phone again I'm disappointed by what I see.
Matthew already promised to watch scary movies with his girlfriend, and Carlos and Krista made plans with some other kids in school that I wasn't that close with.
I'm not the type to get super upset when my friends have other plans, but today was one of those days where I just really wanted to see them and the weather is great, so it's kind of a bummer.
Well, now I have nothing to do on a perfect Saturday.
Damn
I let out a loud huff and Amber walks up to me and says, "Hey sis what're you doing later?"
"Nothing, cause my friends are busy, what about you? Going on a date night with that one guy you've been talking about?"
"Yes, actually I am, and it's going to be a double date with one of my other friends. We're getting dinner then going to that haunted house near the school. But I feel really bad, because my date has a brother and he promised to chill with him, so he's tagging along too, but he doesn't realize he's going to be a fifth wheel. Hey wait a second? Marina you should come and be his blind date!"
"Oh no, that's ok, I don't want to interfere!"
"No seriously it would be like so much fun! Plus I've never been on a triple date! Pretty please? I know you want to go to that haunted house don't even deny it. Wouldn't you do it for your lovely sister?" She begs and makes a puppy face.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind getting out of the house even with my crazy sister and I really want to go in that haunted house so I say "Why not?"
"Yay! I'm gonna give you a makeover! Get ready to blow everyone's minds!"
"Amber chill, we're just getting dinner and going to a haunted house. I don't know if this is a good time to get dressed up" I say laughing at her excitement
"Oh don't you worry, I have THE perfect look. TO MY ROOM" she yells pointing her finger toward the stairs.
She then grabs my hand and yanks me, almost causing me to fall on my face.
Once in her room, she starts ripping clothes out of her closet and mine, trying to mix and match.
I roll my eyes at her and go on my phone. About a half an hour later, I'm just about to ask her what the hell is taking so long, but then she yells "Perfect!"
She pulls out a pair of medium blue wash ripped jeans, a long sleeve black turtle neck shirt, with a soft pink denim jacket to go over it, and grey high heel boots.
Some of this stuff, like the heels, I would never wear but today I didn't feel like fighting her, so I gave in.
Amber had also insisted on doing my hair and makeup, so she put my hair in a really cute half up half down style and curled it at the ends.
When she started my makeup, I told her to keep it light, so she did a cat eye look, then applied mascara, and she told me to put on a deep pink lip gloss.
I was sure she had overdone it, but when I looked in the mirror I was surprised. I actually looked nice, and by Amber's smile, she knew she did good.
By the time Amber was done helping me and getting ready herself, we only had thirty minutes until we had to be at the restaurant, so we left.

When we show up, we find Amber's date and his brother whose name I find out is Brent, and we immediately hit it off.
Since we were waiting for the other two, whoever they were, we had a lot of time to talk and I found out Brent and I had a lot in common.
We both liked Ben and Jerry's and thought it was the best out of any ice cream brand, we were afraid of clowns and being alone in the forest, and we're huge fans of mini golf and laser tag.
I honestly was having a fantastic time talking to him.
That is until the door to the restaurant opened and in walk none other than Missy and Dylan.
No fucking way.
Missy was dragging him in by his arm and he looked beyond infuriated so much so that I don't think he noticed anyone else was in the restaurant.
She has on a bright orange fur coat, a super short skirt, and had makeup caked on to the point where her face was a different shade than the rest of her body.
"Sorry we're late! Looking this good didn't happen fast" Missy says and laughs but it sounds more like a bloated chipmunk about to shit itself.
Gross, who would've guessed she would be obnoxious? Oh wait... ME!
I think to myself and let out a small laugh, but it was louder than I thought and everyone looked over in my direction.
"What's so funny? And who are you anyway? Are you another one of my stalker's you freak?" Missy says very loudly and flips her hair over her shoulder.
A few of the waiters in our proximity look over with wide eyes but continue walking, trying to ignore the sudden outburst.
Before I can respond, my sister is already defending me. "Actually Missy, this is my sister Marina, and you should really be more respectful to people you meet!"
"Oh" Missy says but she still seems ticked off. Not even bothering to say sorry, she whips out her phone and starts typing.
I look over to Dylan and find that he's staring at me with what almost looks like a mix of confusion and relief.
Not breaking our gaze with each other, he slowly looks me up and down and it's so obvious everyone notices.
Well that is except Missy of course since she's still buried in her phone.
Just as I begin to feel a blush creep in, a women comes up to us and says she'll guide us to our table.
Before we sit, Amber subtly grabs my elbow, pulls me close to her and whispers, "What the fuck was that with Dylan back there?"
"Honestly, I wish I knew" I respond sighing.
