Dylan's POV

When Marina checked me out and winked at the pizza place, I felt a burning feeling in my chest.

I wanted to ask what that was all about, but she picked up her pace and was already in her car, so I decided to let it go.

Since that happened though, she's really been on my mind. What did it mean? Does she like me? Was she just trying to be friendly?

The only thing I can think about is hanging out with her soon, which I'm currently getting ready for. I want to figure out if she feels the same way I do.

I put on a blue sweatshirt, tan khaki pants, I slick my hair up with some gel, and use a little extra Axe body spray.

As I'm finishing up, I see Marina and Krista pull up in the car together. I pop a piece of mint gum in my mouth and walk out the door.

I open the car door and say hi to them. Krista greets me with a loud hello and Marina says "hey" but in an oddly shy tone. Weird

Krista, Marina, and I made small talk, but aside from that and the music in the background, we were all pretty silent.

The quiet didn't bother me though, because I was too busy looking at Marina.

At some point, she realized I was looking, which made her blush. She turned toward the window and looked out into the distance for the rest of the car ride.

Right when we pull up to the restaurant, I hop out of the backseat and go up to the front of the car to open the door for Marina. She seemed shocked but thanked me.

We walk in and find that Carlos and Matthew got a booth so we head over and greet them.

As we sit, I make a quick maneuver to make sure I'm next to Marina.

There were three people on our side of the booth, which put us even closer together.

I turn my head to look at her as she turns to look at me. I let my eyes wonder over her face and admire how the dimmed lighting in the restaurant makes her features stand out.

I smirk at her and she smiles back. She opens her mouth to say something, but then a waitress shows up and asks us what we all want to drink.

She walks away and before I can talk to Marina, Carlos and Matthew start talking about the funniest moments their group's had so far. I didn't mind though, I loved hearing their stories.

"Guys, do you remember lunch freshman year when we scared Marina, and she screamed so loud, the whole cafeteria got quiet" Matthew says pointing at Marina. She sticks her tongue out but right after begins laughing.

"Yeah ok Matthew, but how about the time you fell over the slippery floor sign in the mall last year? Are we just going to forget about that" Marina questions making Carlos, Krista, and I burst out in laughter.

Krista then adds on, "Yeah and how right after that we dared Carlos to throw his churro over the rail from the fourth floor and it almost hit a guy on the first floor!"

Marina laughed super hard when Krista said that, to the point where she couldn't breathe, which was extremely cute.

The others kept on bringing up more memories, but I tuned them out and became entranced with Marina and how beautiful she looked while goofing around.

Just watching her in such a happy moment made me smile.

Even when the food came about twenty minutes later, my smile still didn't fade.

After finishing our food and paying the check, Krista said, "Well children, time to head over to laser tag. Get ready cause you're all going down!"
